No surprise there. This is probably the best knife ZT has made to date.

I would have to agree with that. My initial reports on this one were that it was too aggressive in texture and grip for bare hands. I have seen that before in Striders, and other ZT's though and find this one to be on par with those. My hand doesn't tell me its any worse or any better on the bare hand than Striders or other models of the ZT's but its not as bad as a Harsey D2 DA which to me was the worst for that. In a gloved hand the 0551 is quite comfortable and easy to handle and I find the size more appealing than other models I've handled. I think its the best ZT yet personally.

Overall I like the steel, and the handle. My only gripe to this model was the scale that came on the 0551 which is now gone thanks to Rick making new replacements for it.

The 551 scale is one of the best ever produced. Far from too rough.
