ZT0562CF vs Brous Blades Mini Division

Hi guys,

I have the chance to purchase a zt0562CF for 350AUD, or a Mini division for 410AUD. I've always loved how the original 0560 and Division looked but Australia had anti-knife import laws so I was never able to get it, until they repealed the laws last month. Imports are now flooding in!

What would you guys recommend for a solid everyday use knife? I'm fairly new to knife collecting, but I have a PM2 that I love and use for camping, however I would like to purchase another knife as the PM2 got me hooked!

I would mainly use the new knife for EDC/opening boxes and mail

Also, I was watching TheApostleP's youtube review on the 0562 and he says the circular pivot screw would keep loosening by itself from use even with loctite. Can any 0562 owners chime in on this or did he just get a lemon? I know ZT has great warranty and support, but I live in Australia and it is very difficult to ship it back to the US, especially when there is still a gray area about which folding knives airport customs thinks are illegal.

Thank you very much.

Hello!
Never handled a Mini Division, but it looks insane blacked out!!!
I do have a 562cf and it is nothing short of amazing! Fantastic flipper that locks up very tightly! Just a really sharp looking bad ass blade!
I got mine from usamadeblade and they anodized it light blue for free!
You guys over there are gonna go broke with the law change!

I am also new to folders and I'm loving my 562CF. I watched Apostle's video on it and that hold me form ordering my 562 for a while. Then one day a must have forgotten about that "shortcoming" and ordered the knife anyway. When I received it I did unscrew the pivot and put some blue loctite. I have flipped that knife over thousand times (it sit on my office desk) and the pivot is as tight today (I just double checked) as it was 24 hours after applying loctite. And it is my best flipper (not that I have that many).

I like Apostle's videos a lot and have learned a great deal form them. Its just that on this one he is a little off.

May I recommend another knife for EDC if your application is light duty like mine? ZT 0770CF. It is a great light knife that just despairs in my jeans back pocket. I can't carry my 562 that way (that's why it stays put in my office). The 770 is assisted opening though and might not be compatible with you local laws. Some people deassist them and like them like that. I deassisted mine and didn't. Its back to its original configuration.

Cannot comment on the Brouse 'cause I haven't handled it either but have read and heard good things about it.

Get the ZT! When other blades lock in place, you get that pleasant "snick" sound. Very pleasing to the ear. When a ZT locks in place, you hear a solid "thunk", even more pleasing to my ears. But this is just my opinion. For that matter, being imports are flooding in, as you say, GET 'EM BOTH!!

I have 2 ZTs with round pivots, they have not loosened on their own. I will however add purple locktite when it arrives. I don't think they will loosen on their own with locktite. I believe he meant it will still spin with locktite not loosen. You need 2 torx bits to take the pivot apart as it will spin with only one. I really like Zero Tolerance knives. They ride the hype/quality cusp right where I like.

For what you get for the money, the ZT is the clear choice for me. In my opinion, quality is greater than or equal to that of Jason Brous at a significantly lower price. You're getting higher quality steel in the CTS 204P vs D2, frame lock on bearings with the 0562CF vs the liner lock on the Brous. I've always felt Brous blades to be incredibly over priced for what you're getting. He's charging near custom out midtech prices for a full production blade. The ZT would be the easy choice for me

I have the 0562cf and the 0562, they are great knives, so you know what I would choose. I also have a 0770cf so I have 3 blades with the round pivots, never had an issue with any loosening.
