ZT0770CF Advice - Updated with Pics!

I have a M390 version. I recently realized that the design of the current Elmax version seems slightly different from mine. There are holes in the CF for the blade stop pin, and the liner is jagged for the Elmax version. Also, the curve of the CF at the liner is different. The liner in my M390 is more visible and accessibly than that in the Elmax version.

So I ended up choosing the Elmax. For what I use it for, the Elmax will handle with no problem, plus it was $40 bucks cheaper! I just placed the order and I should have it by Monday. I'm super stoked on my first ZT purchase! I'll be sure to come back and post pictures when it comes in!!!

Good choice! I just took mine apart and cleaned her up today. While I had it opened I decided to deassist mine and see how she runs as a manual flipper. Lubed up and lock tighted...gotta say I kinda like her this way.

I'm contemplating de-assisting. Never owned an assisted, so we'll see if I like it. What kinda lube did you use on the pivot?

I've had a bunch of ZT Elmax, and it's a good steel. I have the 0770 in M390 and there is no doubt that it's at the top of Ankerson's list for rope-cutting tests. OTOH, I've had wonderful results with M4, and with proper ht, it really holds an edge. My only experience with M4 is with the Spyderco Gayle Bradley, and everyone loves this knife with its heavy-duty capability.

I don't have the M390 version, but I did also notice some differences going from the the original aluminum-handled 0770 to the 0770CF, aside from the obvious handle material change.
