Photos ZT0850 locking mechanism problem

Despite the problem with the locking mechanism and the fact that it disabled my index finger for at least a week. The knife is beautiful:D. Hope ZT would fix the problem it has.

OP - your 0850 is a defective knife, period. Send it to ZT for warranty work, or if you bought new from a dealer just recently, return for an exchange.

Yep, looks like the lock bar insert wasn't even ground from the factory. I wish I could say I was surprised...

Fill out the form and send it to KAI for warranty. Hopefully they'll fix it and not just send it back to you.
Very doubtful that will happen.

Not about the OP but from when did ZT begin to charge fees from shipping back knives of warranty work?

That sounds unexeptable to me. If the knife was purchased from a ZT dealer they should return it, and personally check the new one out before sending it to you. I have a lot of ZTs and only received one bad one but Whitty of USA blades recommended I do the same for the issue I had and DLT took good care of me. Any reputable dealer should get you a new one!

I agree, the knife should be taken out, operated and inspected before boxing up and shipped.

If you're within the return window from the dealer, I would return it to the dealer. Your brand new knife shouldn't be like this, and there's no reason you should be out $229 and knifeless at this stage.

I had one with a super weak detent. I could turn it upside down and give ita very gentle shake and the blade would just fall out.

I really liked the knife but I immediately boxed it up and started the return process with bladehq. I still want one but trying to find with a nice strong detent.

No one does that at all. In fact they asked for map prices to rise for some manufacturers ... And still don't provide this service.

Thats sucks. You could either try messing with it yourself or just send it back to zt and they will make it right.
