Zytel CS Black Talon ?

I think they did. I have the Custom Series and it is a wicked knife. Don't really carry it that much but have to say this about it, the most comfortable handle I have had in my hand. keepem sharp

I found one ebay.Called a Black Talon but doesn;t say Cold Steel..I could not for any info or pics of a Zytel Black Talon by cold Steel.I have no urge to buy a knock-off.Thanks for the replies.

Cold Steel did make a black serrated blade, black Zytel handle Black Talon. It was the first model. The plain edge San Mai Custom Series came afterwards. I don't know if clones were made in China, but I do know that Cold Steel did release the knife you're asking about.

here is the fake one on ebay, its $27 dollars and doesnt look too bad.

Heck, I'm probably one of the most vocal Cold Steel detractors on these forums, but I don't think it's right to knowingly buy a counterfeit, even if it's Cold Steel being counterfeited!

For around that same price, you can get a Byrd (Spyderco's lower end company) Crossbill, with a similar style, G-10 instead of FRN, and quality that far surpasses any counterfeit you'll find (fingers cannot yet be replaced;))!

Out of curiosity I looked at the Ebay auction. Yeah its $27,but the shipping charge is $17.90 and takes 14-18 "working days" to arrive.

autction spotting is against the rules here, i believe. i won't report you, but modifying the post would likely be a wise decision :)

all the best,

I am going to get a crossbill(PE)G-10.It will look nice with my Civilian. Thanks for all the info on the Cold Steel.

I just saw the one 3mptin3ss posted in the 2005 edition of Knives Encylopedia. It was attributed to Cold Steel in that publication.

i been seeing pics of it being posted here and there on the net....

That knife was a proto and CS never released it to the public. The knives never came up to CS standards. So CS eventually canceled all production of that knife and it was never available for sale.

If someone is selling a black, Zytel Black Talon, it is a fake and not a CS product. CS never manufactured those knives and never had them available for the public.
