Zytel deforms and stretches??

Hi Schtik,

Wow! That is a surprising statement! I'd have to know more about the applications surrounding the concerns.

I can only comment from my perspective regarding Zytel as a material. I've seen more beat-up SOG knives than anyone alive and this statement ("many complain that Zytel tends to deform & stretch over the time") has no SOG merit.

I can only imagine that if it did have any merit, the quanity of those complaining would be "many," but rather "a few."

Of course, I mean no offense to "Gator"; a fine fellow knife knut and SOG fan, with a great website. :)
 
I wonder idf the complainers may be mixing up Kraton (pliable) and Zytel (rigid). I believe Zytel is glass reinforced to prevent stretching...:confused:
