Funny. You ask for advice but then get mad at those who give it to you. Seems you pick and choose who you listen to even though the advice is often the same from everyone.Hey Chap . . . I picked up my Sebenza 21 earlier today. I only saved around $50 by buying it off the forums here. Check out Knifecenter.com you can buy one there starting at $450. And don't let a few fanboys tell you not to post here. Just click on their name and send them to the ignore list like I do. Makes for a much friendlier forum. Its the purgatory of the blade forums. Then you will no longer have to see their "baiting you" type posts. There are some great members here that bend over backwards to be helpful to new members like us. Just click ignore and reload the page and poof both they and their comments are gone . . .
If you don't align yourself to their way of thinking that only "they" have the one right answer, they will continue to chide you until the moderator sends your thread to what they call the "wine and cheese" forum. Then the animals there can attack you and its a sanctioned by the forum. I've never seen this in any other forum. This is where they move your thread and original question to another thread when they can't get you to swallow their brand of koolaid.
You are not allowed to ask for varying views on a subject like why doesn't a CR flick open easier. You and I have now learned . . . It is what it is. But if you don't like their answer then they want you to just leave this CR forum and don't post here anymore. I say Sacr'e bleu to them. . . . I was just in monteal this past weekend on vacation . . . I luv the French and their wine!

This isn't using your knife, it is unnecessarily playing with it:
CRKs are not meant to do this. It is not only not recommended, it will void your warranty. So yes, with a CRK, being a compulsive unnecessary flicker is not what using the knife is about. Modding the knife is highly unrecommended as well. You can never put that metal back on the washers. And for, you a trip back to CRK will be expensive and time consuming if you mess it up. But it is your time and money. You need to evaluate if the risk is worth it to you. For me it would not be worth it but I can flick my 21 just fine with no trouble, though I only do so when I actually need to open the knife and often then I don't even flick it though I could.
I would guess-lockbar face and maybe stop pin. Lockbar is Ti working against hardened steel. Ti will always loose that battle, but if slammed into(such as wrist flick) or excessively opened it will loose quicker. By constant opening and closing a knife just for entertainment you can easily put a years worth of wear on the lockface in just a night. Use your knife in a normal fashion and it will last a lifetime.
There is nothing wrong with the thumb flick(though I don't do it), but there is with excessive thumb flicking.
Everything wear out eventually-certain action cause things to wear out sooner
CRK isn't interested in paying for those that have obsessive habits.
I truly hope you enjoy your 21 and your stay here. I’m sure one will last awhile.
I don't think any "fanboys" attacked you or was rude in anyway ... you asked a question you got several replies ...
1 - if you don't like the replies that's not someone being rude it's just someone who is just being honest with you ... and you get bent out of shape at them?
2 - And then to insult a ZT0452 after pronoucing you're a "police inspector after all" ... what does that have to do with anything? ...
3 - and why do people think all you wanted was a toy to flick ... maybe this ...
My comment wasn't directed at you, but your answer is the correct one. It is (or will be) your knife and you can do whatever you choose with it. Flick it , modify it or throw it in the trash. As long as you take responsibility for your actions, they are no ones business but your own. They are well made knives and likely you will not run into problems from your flicking-no matter how much. There have however been many cases where people don't take responsibility for their actions then scream & cry when CRK or other(manufacturers) don't cover them. CRK just can't cover everything that people can think up to destroy knives(this again is not directed at you).
ZT0462 looks like ass next to a seb 21, imo
