Most Iconic Swiss Army Knife

I bought a tinker for my boss. He is in his mid 20's and has commented several times about doing the dad thing by having handy little tools in my pockets. I figured now he can start experiencing just how handy a sak truly is. The tinker paired with my little knipex cobra pliers is better than a plier based multitool for me and doesn't way near as much either.

In terms of “iconic,” I’d suggest looking at what Victorinox themselves frequently use for their marketing and signage: the Huntsman

I’d wager that this model with its tools partially open displays the most well known tools and is makes a nice, iconic silhouette.

There’s a huge one on the factory in Ibach:

It’s the model shown for the factory store site:

It was in the old “NASA” commercial (despite not being the model used by NASA):

I’ve seen it used elsewhere as well. I’d say the runner up would be the Climber.

This is a tough one. The Classic SD is certainly the most ubiquitous SAK, but I'm hard-pressed to think of one model that most resonates with the general public. Being American, I lean toward the Tinker because most of us don't need corkscrews in public places given that in most US locales public alcohol use is illegal.

That and the fact Phillips head screws are everywhere. For the non-knife/SAK-carrying public, for some reason I'd think the Swisschamp is what they think of, coupled with a heavy sigh and an eyeroll that anyone in their presence actually demonstrates the capacity to deal with something. But I live in a thoroughly hoplophobic state, too.
