PM2 loctite

Another voice against Loctite Red here. Particularly with respect to upcoming exclusives as I do not feel comfortable spending upwards of $220 on a folder which I cannot adjust and maintain myself. No issues here with Loctite Blue.

Harbor freight wood burning tool $4.
Good set of torx drivers, i didn't need to hit it.
I wouldn't suggest trying to "meatface" these out, i don't care how sophisticated your bits are... or how many other PM2s you've had without the red, as you can see some of them do have it.
Set the woodburner in the pivot 5 minutes ON EACH SIDE.
The RED LOCTITE will break without killing your screws.

I have used a nail in some vice grips heated up with a regular Bic lighter before. I just held the tip of the nail to the screw for about 15-20 seconds and ALL of my screws have broken loose with no issues. I've only ever had to use the hot nail method once or twice though.

mgover13,

Thanks for posting excellent detailed photos,,, I have recommended this simple procedure with a soldering iron since the issue began.

The Wiha torx bits are rather inexpensive and readily available on the Amazon site,, another easy solution to the problem.

Cannot understand why so many are complaining about the red Loctite Grade 262.

Regards,
FK

It's weird b/c when I bought my PM2, it seemed like there was no lock-tite at all. The screws came out so easily. weird.

I bought a 'Seconds' S110V Military with the intent of dyeing the scales a darker blue; couldn't get two screws off so I boiled the scales regardless for 45".

After removing from the solution and rinsing them off those two screw came out easy-peasey and I was able to remove the standoffs & liner.

In the past I've placed arrows & sights that had been super glued together in the freezer overnight & successfully broken the super glue seal, wonder if anyone has tried freezing their knife for Red Loctite removal?!?!
