´THE RAVEN´- hommage à E.A.Poe

When a piece is inspired by something it can be special, but when it is inspired in a true artist with this level of talent in his craft it can become something superlative. That is what I see in this.

Even though I like the display very much I can only imagine what you may have come up with if you had decided to create a sheath. Your sheaths always complement your knives so well.

Now that is a superb tribute. I'm always dubious when you open a thread thread that's a homage to something because you've always preconceived notions of how these two elements are going to go together. I love Poe's poetry and this is a perfect blend.

I´m happy, that my collector didn´t ask for a sheath...
I think it´s not so funny to fit the sheath-mouth to the beak.

I can understand why. An incredible amount of vision, talent, hard work and love for the subject as well as the composition is already in this piece. My comment in no way was meant to deny that fact.
 
I appreciate the way you incorporated the forging of the downward curve as part of the finish. Its apparent you had this in your vision all the way from beginning to end. Excellent on all levels.
