01 for edc?

Yeah, I lived in Tampa for a few years, at the time I edc'd a BM in s30-v. Even that managed to get a little light surface rust spotting from being in my pocket during a hike on a blazing hot day. ( you could pretty much rub the rust off with your thumb though) ill give the 01 in a pocket sheath a shot. I really like the character 01 gets with use, but the pics of your SP are pretty classy too.

What area do you live in now? I don't know how you'd feel about it being 3/16" with an SFT tang, but if the O-1 causes any issues for you let me know and I'll trade with you for a while and you can see if you like the stainless version better :) I'd like to handle a thinner model just to see what it feels like, and that tapered tang and drunken burlap is damn sexy...not to mention it would sort of match my Raptor :D

I'm up in NH now, night and day with FL, lol. Yeah , thanks, I'll def keep that in mind after I get a chance to give it a workout.

Great etches guys! I think FC is the standard, I use it to etch then stone wash stainless blades, but it does a great job on damascus. It's cheap too ($14 for a big bottle).

Wasn't aware of the other methods, but it makes sense. The corrosion works at different speeds on the steels to bring out the pattern.

Should you do it? I dunno. My concern would be getting the acids (any you choose to use) under the scales. It's possible, if the scales aren't sealed, that you'll get a capillary draw. You don't want that obviously. Better to ask Andy since he makes and warrants the knife (I wouldn't expect coverage on a modified blade) and the damascus is pretty anyway as shipped if it's the ones he sold recently.

Op- sorry for getting off topic. :o
