So long story short, I'll be getting a $325 voucher from ZT for my beloved 0560 that got ruined. I have my choices narrowed between these two knives, which one should I get? The 0560 was my favorite knife by far, is the 562 comparable?

If you liked the 0560 I'd be inclined to think the 0452 would be more up your alley. Longer, bigger knife that sits well in the pocket just like the 056x's.

I followed your last thread on your 560, sorry about your 560. I sold my 560 several years ago and I knew I would regret it, but to answer your question the 562 is more comparable to the 560, and both are Hinderer designs/collabs. If I were you I would wait till this week when ZT will announce new knives at SHOT and see what they are bringing. I have held off getting a 562 in hopes for maybe something different this year as the 562 has been out for 2 years now and maybe a re-design and/or some changes may be added or not. IF not then I would just get the 562, which is what I will probably end up doing.

I like both the 0562 and 0452. The slim design and huge blade has the 0452 winning for me.

Go with the 0452cf. Haven't been able to stop carrying/flipping mine since I got it.

0562CF will feel more familiar, maybe even better than the 0560. It's also a better all around user than the 0452CF IMO. They are arguably my two favorite ZTs so I don't think there's a wrong answer here. There is something very special about the 0452CF.

I think the answer to this comes down to what you prefer. If you like a longer knife over a wider knife then go 452CF. If it is the opposite then 562CF all the way. If it were my decision I would go 562CF just because it fits my big hands better!

Here is one of our very old comparison pics of the 2. Found this deep in our comparison knife pics folder. Hope it helps!

I've had multiples of both and personally prefer the 0562 for a better fit in my hand. It was just more comfortable for me to use.

I have both and I would go with 0562 because handle on 0452 is too narrow for me (and I have really small hands).

I didn't even realize that was coming up, guess I'll wait and see. Isn't the steel better on the 562 as well?

I don't consider myself to have large hands, but if the 452 handle is like the BM710 then maybe I would like the 562 better. After using my 560 so much the 710 just feels way too thin in my hands.

go with 0562. My hand is not big yet like one of the above posters I feel 0452 handle is too narrow. Also, I feel the flipping action of 0452 is a bit too snappy.

that's great news that they are helping you out. I'd get a 562cf seriously awesome knife. I have both and I never carry the 452 cause its murderee and scares the shit outa everyone around me.

Hands down 0562cf, it is basically an upgraded 0560...my guess is that is why the 0560 series was discontinued. It reminds me of Spydero PM2 vs PM3, a little smaller knife with a few new features, i.e. cf and "better" steel.

562CF has the cts-204p which is same as M390 or 20CV, the regular 562 has the elmax and I think the new ones off the line come with S35VN.
204 will be better steel but either will serve you well.

Really? Their site still lists it as having the 20v. I really wish every knife had stonewash finish, I hate satin. Another reason I liked my 560 so much.

The new 562CF's off the line are coming with 20cv which I would think you would get if getting directly from ZT. Yeah, I prefer the stonewash as well, satin just shows every little scratch. If nothing comes out at SHOT that you like you should consider just getting a 562cf from ZT, then just sell it on here then get you a 560 on eBay. Sounds like you really wont be happy until you get another 560. I loved the 560 I had it was just a tad long and sold it and got the 566, however the 566 is not close to a 560 in terms of ergos IMO.

I looked at the 566 too but I hate assisted opening. I almost won a560 on Ebay but I wasn't going to spend more than $270 on it and someone bid higher at the last second. I'll wait for SHOT I guess, but so far I think the 562CF is winning out. I'll have the GM2 to hold me over either way.

Sounds good and good luck, I think you would get used to the 562 pretty quick and may even like it better, who knows. Let us know which way you go.

if you like their are 100's of people that will stonewash that blade and re-sharpen it for you for a cost. i presume between $30 and $50 give or take, as everyone is different. just sayin. check out the guys on this forum, their are a variety.

stonewash in knives is cheap for knife makers to do, especially over satin. huge cost savings over it. it takes time but not that much and its not labor intense at all.
