0562CF vs 0452CF

That sounds like you got a dud, not that it is a symptom of the model. You can't push the lockbar on my 0452.

Everyone keeps telling me that but I've yet to get a ZT yet without a liner on the carbon fiber side, that I couldn't push the lockbar over with thumb pressure. As shown on my 0804.

that can happen. I had it happen only once. it had lock stick too. I have since not had that problem since it happened last, and I use it a lot.

I can push it all the way too, but I guess I never try too. didn't even realize I could until you brought it to my attention. daymn.

will zt fix that? have you sent it in?

I really enjoy mine alot. despite this I still recommend it, but at least you know going into it one issue.

I don't know if ZT considers it a defect or not, being the lockbar only gets tighter. You'd think that they would know the way their knives lock up. Flipping both of mine that I could push over, only caused them to lock up early.

it kind of annoys me now lol thanks a lot .

I don't see any way for failure to happen in this position, so I'm not to entirely bothered in that aspect. but if its not lubed it sticks a bit when pressed all the way like that. just put a tad bit of lube on it and now no stick if it goes all the way over. yea I wonder what ZT's position is.

It's just strange, I have Benchmade, Spyderco, Reate, Steadmon, Kizer and Mircotech with framelocks, steel inserts that will not move under thumb pressure. Even my ZT 0562cf won't.

Ok, so let me ask this: If my goal is to own another 560 sometime soon, should I just not bother with the 562 since they're similar in size/shape and just get the 452CF since it's a totally different design?

Not the best pic, but I hope it helps.

I guess I'm going to grab a 562cf since ZT didn't come out with anything that interests me at all this year. Part of me wishes they still made the 560 but I know the show must move on.

I like that my 0452 has no steel liner on the scale side. My lockbar does the same thing if I push it over on this knife though. However this doesn't seem to affect the lock as all, or the speed which it wears. It seems to be the lock face on the tang was just cut at a shallower angle allowing the bar to be pushed. However the geometry is otherwise correct and it locks up tight.

I am not sure how this will be with further wear, there are no indications it will be a problem. Also no matter where I push the bar it always stays locked solid. Obviously if I push it all the way over then there is stick, just because the way the lock is cut. It has been a great knife to me.

Thanks for that. Ugh, I need another 560. If I do that I want the 0452 as well because I just feel like it would be a nice contrast. As soon as I can convince myself to drop more money (already bought the GM2) this could be a good start to the year for me. 560, 452, and GM2. I still like the 562CF as well, but since they still make that I think I need to act on the 560 before I can never find another new one.

Even though I voted zt0452 the 0562 is nice too. It comes in a better blade steel as well. The 0452 is the only CF model that doesn't get a steel upgrade it seems.

I can't move my 0452 at all. Its 40%. The 0450s I can maybe push to 50-60% if I use both thumbs they naturally flip to 40%.

Everyting else stays where it is.

I am curious if the folks that prefer the 452, will take to the 462.

My thinking is based on the upgraded alloy, and the natural slicer build.

I definitely want a 0462. I have both the 0452 and the 0562CF. If I could only keep one, I'd probably keep the 0452. I just love how light and narrow in the pocket it is despite its somewhat ridiculous size.
