0600 lock up. Where is yours at?

I tweaked the detent on an extra 0801 I got last night. It was too weak for me, now it's perfect. It functioned fine out of the box though, so I can't find any fault in it.

How do you do that? I mean, other than just bending the lock bar a little.

That was pretty much it. I bent it in one time, wasn't strong enough. Did it more, it was too strong so I tool it back a little and it was like my first one when I took it out of the box.

If you do this though, be careful. The lock insert is the over travel stop and makes it a bit difficult to bend it back out after you've bent it in.

I'm not too sure about that around here, I did hear Diva's mentioned earlier ;)

Sounds like we can coin a new term, "Knife Divas". There I said it. My 0600 is about as good as I can hope for. I paid for mine. It wasn't free by any means, and the lock up is at 20%.

I'm no George S. Patton Jr. but I subscribe to what he said: "I know I'm a prima donna. I admit it."

Lockup% = 33%

On mine, the lockup is very early, and solid as a rock.

The centering is maybe a "stache" hair off, but it does not bug me and THAT is one of MY quirks.

I would even say it is maybe a finer class of hair that I cannot mention in this thread. :D

I am loving the 600, one of if not the best ZT yet!

Thanks. For some reason I thought that was only temporary and that it would quickly return to an average tension. But because I now have that goofy clip pressing against the lock bar the detente is the way I like it: explosive. Should get my 600 today for comparison.

I think the clip is perfect. That being said, the clip doesn't actually contact the lock bar. A close look will show that it half sits on the back handle, and the lock bar hovers slightly below it. The increased tension on the lock bar, as far as I've found, puts enough pressure to sink the detent ball further into the receiver and pull the blade back a bit farther against the stop pin. This is how I now have the "snap" feel in the detent that I felt on the first 0801 I got as well as the Rexfords I played with at Blade Show.

What's that? About 30%?

It's saying it's an invalid attachment.

Mine is ~40%. What I find interesting is that the tang is milled on these and not ground. Never seen this before...

I'm not sure my brother really needs this knife, what do you think? He's just going to get farm leakage on it. Nah, he'll be tickled. Sure is a sweet one, though.

I hope it's an extra one. It's an amazing knife. My pre-order missed out on the 0777 (original version), but this one has kinda made me forget about it.

That is interesting. Thanks for the quality picture.
Many custom knifemakers mill the lock-tang. Neither is better/worse.
