0600 Sighting

Oh great, you all had to go get me even more excited than I've been lately! Can't wait for my preorder to come through! Of course assuming they receive enough to get to my name but I'm feeling confident. For those that feel they missed out I wouldn't count yourself out of the running yet, time will tell how many make it to dealers that aren't sold out. Just be optimistic and keep an eye out at the usual dealers.

And thanks for the update Jim, always nice to know the relative size of the batch out, this way I don't have to sit here sweating my preorder and jumping at the first available one for sale that I see, hahaha!

Honestly, I know we all want to get a deal, but consider what you're getting in this case. I don't feel like $400 is too much for this particular knife. There are much plainer knives out there that sell for $400 all day long with no 3D machined handles, no 3d machined carbon fiber insert, no machined billet Titanium clip, no solid Ti backspacer, and no ball bearing washers. Just my opinion though.

I'm not suggesting we start an argument about pricing, but I think the MSRP on this knife was pretty close to what the selling price needed to be, especially considering how limited and unique it is.

True that dude and I'll give you the pro and con.

We're conditioned to paying MAP or below on ZTs that are primo QC already in regular production models.

One has to bear in mind the "uniqueness" and absolute quality & craftsmanship that goes into each of the Limited Edition ZTs. Absent the uniqueness all else holds true for the rest of the regular production ZT line! Surprised? Don't be!

Confession time: Up until this year I stayed away from ZTs since I had that one big beefy albeit quality 0300ST. It seemed to me to be the extent of ZT as in "beefy" ALONE! I've been pleasantly surprised as to to depth and breath of what constitutes a ZT back to its original mission, that is, DIVERSITY. It was never meant to be a narrowly-defined beefy market (no offense to vegetarians, pork, poultry or seafood lovers :). Glad to hear that!

For ZT, I expect nothing but astonishing products across all realms!

There you go putting ideas in my head !!!

I love burl as much as the next guy (probably a lot more....) but that Sig next to the RJM just begs for a CF scale.

Spoiler alert - don't read any of Jimmers posts here......it'll cost you.

best

3 of the ZT0600 just popped up on that huge auction site, with a very hefty and unreasonable price bump.

just sent our bladeforums ZT savior Dave my payment. Can't wait! The original date on the email I sent him to reserve it was 5/22/2012. Been waiting for this thing over a year!

Got mine! Paid full retail for it though. Know a place that has them in stock for that. If anyone's willing to pay retail...PM me and I'll let you know where.

The 0600 will be staggered with its release. The first round is out. There is no exact production number associated with the 0600. My guess is that it will be AROUND 1000 pieces. I would imagine the run will be finished up by Sept or so.

Thanks for the info it is greatly appreciated.

Couple of reasons for the post are to explain to folks that not all of the 0600's have been released. If you're down on a waitlist and didn't get allocated for this first run, you're not out of luck. More will be coming, no need to panic.

The other is, and I guess this needs to be explained again, that there is no exact target with regard to the number of pieces of the 0600. We hope to produce to around 1000 pieces (give or take an up or down variance). I can guarantee there will not be exactly 1000 pieces. I trust this notice will keep the gripes to a anorexic minimum no matter what side of the 1000 pieces the 0600 falls on.

Sorry if I'm coming off harsh today, just being pressed to be proactive and keep the future focused.
