0888max & 0888 m390

Thought the 0888MAX was the gunmetal grey looking one? Sounds like I won't be getting a MAX...I was 6/6.

I wouldnt care what variation I got I just like the design. Any of the steels they are using is a winner.

Don't blame your gastric eruptions on Venus... Really, who's going to believe THAT story???? Even if you can triangulate with a weather balloon???

The production numbers for the 0888 are:

0888 212-216

0888Max 120

0888M390 130-150

Can't wait for the shipping notice!
Wow rare knives indeed!

The secondary market prices on these will probably be downright scary..especially for the 0888Max.

They will certainly be great for collectors, honestly though I loved the design of the 0777M390, I thought it would be the last big $ folder I'd buy, and it's neat to see a company pushing the limits with new technology but I was not impressed with it as a knife to actually USE, especially at the secondary market prices. The copy I had the blade detent hole was too large so when blade was closed it had play. Also the lock bar was very "weak" or flexy in that the long gap parallel to the handle long axis would increase significantly when the blade would pull against the detent ball before it opened, almost as if it was going to tear the lock bar from the handle in the direction the blade swings open and made a "cheap" click/tink sound when it finally let go. That said the blade retention was great! I loved looking at it but was always disappointed whenever I opened and closed it. Checked out a couple other copies, same thing, if I was just going to put it away as a collector no issue, as a user, just not acceptable. It brings up an interesting dynamic because with many of these limited edition knives I don't think most people are really using them, so getting real review/evals is probably difficult. In addition to the fact that most people are not going to admit they are not happy with a $500+ knife purchase.

I was way more impressed with the 0560CBCF, but it did teach me that I wouldn't buy another limited ZT without handling one first. Which means I basically won't buy anymore since they will certainly pre-sell out with the way the secondary market is going for limited edition production knives right now. :) I bet a lot of guys are funding their entire knife habit by flipping pre-order limited editions as of late between what spyderco and zt's are going for.

So has anyone talked to their dealer yet? The anticipation is killing me. Wish we wouldn't have scared Kai Corp away. Could use some pics of the MAX and M390 version.
