0888max & 0888 m390

Anybody know if there are any more 0777m390 SW due to be coming out? I've been getting mixed messages from dealers.

I think they're all gone. This morning I received the following communication from BladeHQ:

We are sorry to inform you that Zero Tolerance has officially discontinued the production of both the long awaited 0777 and new modified version, 0777M390. As such Zero Tolerance has already sold out of the models that have been produced up to this point, therefore these two models will not be available for purchase.

Thanks RamZar for the triple 7 update. I've been on a waiting list for a SW forever, but it looks like I'll have to find one here.

Why did I hear, "dun dun dunnnn" when you said that last sentence???

In all reality, the prices of the M390 777 haven't gotten all that crazy. Much more reasonable than trying to get an 888

Uhmm. I don't know. Not sure what dun, dun, dunnn means...

But I certainly won't be unhappy to find one here, and am more than willing to pay for what I want. I am disappointed, though, to still be strung along by a dealer for a knife I paid for many months ago--who continues to say there are more coming. I just don't know what to make of it. Which is why I am thankful for the input of others here. :) If I need to get a refund and move on, I would like to do so on some solid information. And RamZar's information has always been good.

It has been a month since the Thomas interview and this thread. I would've thought the 0888MAX would be out by now! Yes, my patience is ebbing! :)

ZT has released so many knives that I am now totally confused!!! Many look similar to each other with subtle differences that in order for me to decide my next ZT I am going to need a face to face with a Dealer so I can see before I buy.....

ZT is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with, and the brand isn't even 10 years old. I'm very glad to see that they (KAI) continue to work past all the challenges to deliver products to the end user. Thomas is a "Never Say Die" kind of guy and has to be one of the hardest working people in the industry. I'm proud to say that I own and use ZT products because they are built extremely well, stand behind their product 100%, American made, and are pushing design and innovation to the next level. These are great times to be a knife user/collector.

while I agree with almost everything you said I cant really second the part about things happening fast for brand as young as 10 years old. Technically yes the implementation of the use of certain names is only 10 years old its still a KAI company and shares many of the components as many kershaw knives. I think it would be more of a feat if it was a new start up company but all the ZT products could very well have ended up kershaw products. They just created a new name for knives of a certain caliber.

Bringing this old thread up. Has anyone heard any updates for the max and m390 version?

Hopefully doesn't come out the same time as a bunch of other ZT models Ive pre ordered. Wish it would come out soon so I can plan/save accordingly. Haven't bought a knife in 2014 yet. I wanna scratch my itch!

Wherefore art thou, Max!

Are we any closer to the 0888MAX? Still, half Maxamet and half M390 steel for a total limited edition run of 250 combined?

Talk about the ultimate down play...by a ton...

Well Im sorry. Im not trying to downplay anything. I just find it hard to believe that adding a division to an existing company with experienced employees with 30 years of experience business and manufacturing knives is harder than a company being started from scratch with those who dont know word one about doing such things. Im not saying it was easy nor without its own headaches and speedbumps. Im simply stating that you guys had a lot more to work with than most in regards to starting a new company. You could just have easily put the Kershaw logo on the ZT knives. Many new companies (especially in knives) need to prove themselves before they garner any amount of respect. ZT I feel had a bit of a leg up considering everyone knew it was a a venture backed by one of the best brands in the business. Dont get me wrong, I think ZT should be proud of their achievements but I just think the road for making ZT a reality was a little better paved than that of a guy in his garage right now who is thinking of starting a knife company yet has nothing but that dream to work with.
