1,000th post Opinel GAW !WE HAVE A WINNER!

I'm in. I do not have an Opinel, always liked the looks of them, and figured it would be a good picnic knife. Thanks for the opportunity.

I'm in for I have been looking at getting one but haven't. A guy I work with keeps bringing his in to show me & I'm like wow that's a nice knife. Yet I still do not have one.

I'm in.

Not really sure what an Opinel is. I'm new to this forum.

ETA: Awesome looking folders. I now know what an Opinel is, I like folders, and traditional style, so I'd be game to try one out.

Very generous of you! Count me in. Been planning on ordering one anyway, but my wife would prefer this option I'm almost certain. =D

Got my first Opinel YEEAAAARRRSS ago. 40 years maybe. Started a love affair with them.

I hope whoever wins this gains a real appreciation for these knives. They are just great.

Cool, thanks for doing this. I'm in. (never had one either)

I had one many years ago, don't remember if I sold it or gave it away.
Would love a chance to get another.
I'm in, and thank you for the opportunity!

I do have Opinels. This talk reminded me of the first Spyderco I bought 15 years ago. I wanted to see how sharp it was, so I sliced into an old phone book first with the Spyderco and then with my Opinel . The Opinel sliced so much deeper! At first it was a disappointment in regards of the Spyderco, and then I started to dig into edge geometries, edge retention issues etc. That Spyderco was then my edc 24/7 for 10 years.
The Opinel is a great high carbon steel, very easy to sharpen, but needs to be oilled very often including the locking ring. Catches rust fast.
