As you can tell I've been postin alot of what's your fav threads lately..I think there always fun.. and it's nice to see what people are up to and see pics and such...ANy how this is not a "you only have one knife" thread this IS a (if you had to choose 1 dedicated belt knife (out of what you have owned or used) for the rest of your life what would it be?? The assumption is that this would be part of a combination of tools...

It is a very difficult question. I think my choice would be Swamp Rat Ratweiler. I like it more than my Busse Steel Hreart. It is not a combination of tools, but it is THE KNIFE.

well my favorite is my little Buck Woodsman. Nothing special or fancy about it but it works well for me.

This one, assuming smaller knives are allowed:

This is a Ray Laconico custom, and it is fast becoming my favorite overall knife. I had the chance to carry and use this knife earlier this month while on a camping trip in WY. The knife was used for food prep and splitting large pieces of firewood down into more usable sized pieces. General camp use. The thing I really like about this knife, other than the excellent craftsmanship of the blade and handle, is the balance. It is very quick and easy in the hand. The balance is right at the index finger. Perfect!

What do you define as "belt knife" and what is the allowable combination of tools? I don't mean to be technical, but my "combination" now includes two knives that ride on my belt.

I'm going to assume you're meaning the primary knife to do most chores.
That would be my BRKT Aurora. None of my other knives, past or present comes close to the all-round utility of this blade.

The other knife that rides on ym belt is my new RAT RC3, which I intend as pretty much a dedicated game prep/skinner. Since it's not intended as a general purpose knife, I don't know if it's disqualified or not.

Here's mine.
blade length 90mm, overall 205mm, wighs130gr.
Patina covered blade steel is M2.
I made this 14 years ago and repaired the sheath recently.

This is my only fixed blade knife.

I hope the reference to the lord of the rings is to the book and not the crap that United Cutlery puts out.

As far as production knives go I would keep the SOG Northwest Ranger. It has been my main all around knife for many years. However for custom knives some of my fleet of JK and DP knives would have to be considered. That's a tough question for guys with to many knives to count.

Wire gate carabinner, red tubular webbing and thin braided cord as a lanyard... Fujita, are you also a climber?

What sheath is that? Looks awesome.

Hi all, mine is the Peace maker and the Handy little knife. The Peace maker sports a 6" long by 5/32" thick by 1 and 1/8" wide 0-1 steel blade with a 4.5" full tang handle.
The Handy little knife sports 4" long by 3/32" by roughly 5/8" wide 0-1 steel blade with a 4" full tang handle. Both knives have Orange G-10 for the handle scales easy to see if set down or dropped. They both fit into a sheath I made with a few other sruvival goodies:D

I made the Peace maker and the Handy Little Knife a few weeks back and so far, for me these are the knives that I plan to keep, carry and use every day rain or shine from camp to kitchen chores.

take care all,

Bryan

Man thats one SWEET knife!

Reminds me a little of the BKT Campanion.
I bought a BKT Campanion blade blank on ebay this week, suddenly i wish the mail was a little faster, lol!

Assuming i can have a multi/SAK and an axe besides this 1 belt knife then i would choose my Enzo kit knife.

(thats not finish on the brass, the Corby bolts have tarnished a little in a strange pattern, must try to polish that out)

This one will work fine.

The combo has been a edc since I got the sheath at the end of May.

They have been a stellar combo.

I have a Becker Crewman that has been with me for quite a while and has held up to alot of abuse, it's proven and trustworthy.

I have a RC4 that I've only had for a little while but it seems like a good sturdy knife that will prove itself over time.

I just recieved a BRK&T fox river yesterday and it seems like it could do just about any knifely task but I haven't used it yet.
