I'm thinking the trend seems to be knives in the 4-6" region. Seems quite reasonable....

Definitely the Bark River Aurora...I bought it around Easter and have not bought a knife since. I am not saying it's a better knife than lots of other, similar knives, but it's a very, very good knife. Ideally I would pair it up with something like a 3/4 axe and a very small fixed blade or a small folding knife.
I can't think of anything I want a knife to do that the Aurora doesn't do for me.
It is a very difficult question. I think my choice would be Swamp Rat Ratweiler. I like it more than my Busse Steel Hreart. It is not a combination of tools, but it is THE KNIFE.

i Have So Many. Usually I Carry Three. But One Knife To Rule Them All Should Not Be Too Big Or Too Small. Maybe This Busse Skinny Ash1 That I Did A Full Convex Grind On.

The Aurora is my pick as well. But I really love my Busse SJTAC, with a thinned edge on it, it slices like a dream, it's just too heavy to comfortably wear on my belt.

We have waaay too many of the same knives
Well, I'm too lazy to drop in some pictures, but I see "belt knife" as just that; something that is comfortable to carry 24/7. My idea is typcially a 4-6" fixed blade knife. I'm torn between a couple...I carry a Mad Dog PATAK everyday for work, but I'd want a little better slicer for outdoors:
Bark River Bravo-1 (top choice)
Bark River Wet Enviro
Fehrman Last Chance
Swamp Rat Ratmandu
Koster Nessmuk
Of course, I'll have several others for different needs:
Fiddleback Nessmuk camp chores
Garcia's SBT for bushcraft
Fallkniven's WM1 (in a MercHarness)
Large Chopper (Siegle, BRKT, Becker BK9 or Fehrman)
Couple of folders, my SAK Outrider, Silky Saw and Swiss Spirit multi tool
