1 Stop Knife Shop

I've bought a lot of knives online, and I have been disappointed with 1SKS.com.

While thier prices are competitive, thier service for me has been poor. They take forever to ship and order, and also take a long time to follow up with questions... such as "when will you ship my order?"
I once placed an order, and unfortunately changed my mind. I sent an e-mail asking to cancel the order, and asked for a reply. After several e-mails, it became clear that, while they hadn't charged my card nor shipped the product, they were clearly not talking to me. I just found that really poor.

My money goes to knifeoutlet.com, and some other places as well...


I might say that if you don't mind the waiting, then you can shop here, but whenI plunk down my money I want the thing asap.

Email has always been a problem for us, I'll be the first to admit - I am working on improving that though. With regards to cancellations, because of a lack of accountability & positive confirmation we cannot accept email cancellations. We require you cancel your order by phone - that way you can confirm it instantly.

I'm sorry that you experienced problems with your order. In the future, please feel free to use the toll free number to make changes to, and inquire about your orders.

Wow, I guess I forgot Bladeforums was affiliated with 1sks.

I read through the return/cancellation stuff when I decided to cancel, and did make the call. I was merely surprised at the lack of e-mail support.

1sks is a great resource for info and price comparison. I just don't like how long it took from order to shipment.

Kevin- maybe you could tell me why so many of my orders took weeks just to ship? If you can talk to me about it you could win back a customer. (Let's be clear, items were supposedly in stock)
 
The site doesn't list stock availability - hence some of the possible confusion... that is a common complaint however the software we use just doesn't have the ability to list stock status. With regards to email - I'm extremely concerned with giving the best possible support however when it comes to answering email and getting packages out the door, I have to give priority to shipping. You will see a marked improvement in email response in the next few months as we get some major changes accomplished (you'll see more details soon).

At any given time, we keep a large supply of the most popular items in stock, however, it's unfortunate that sometimes we just don't have items on hand. Most things that are out of stock come back in within 1-3 days. Certain items take longer, especially if they are only available from one source, or if the manufacturer has them on backorder. For example, William Henry knives can take anywhere from 1-3 years for certain models, while Microtech is available from several distributors. Camelbak products that are out of stock can take a week or more to come in, while Camillus can be had in 24 hours.

What items were you interested in? Perhaps if I had more information I could give you a more reasonable explanation for why your orders took so long? Again, you have my apologies for the delay with your order.

I agree. The shop has everything but not many features that I have grown to expect on other sites like real Order Status. There is a huge disclaimer, I know, about it taking up to 14(?) days to ship. I mean it's there but who really pays attention. Most people think of 1SKS as the Amazon of the knife world so the orders will keep coming. I hope I get my order soon.
 
Unfortunately, it's a limitation of the software. As soon as the company builds in real time tracking, we'll be offering it. Until then, we'd have to pay several thousand for a custom order tracking API that many people still wouldn't use.

For now, we offer a toll free number that customers can use to check order status during business hours. We're always happy to talk to you and give a heads up on what's going on.

well from friends i've heard praise to 1sks, and will be doing business in the next few months with them for a good CRKT folder. i've arranged for a friend over there to call up and make the order for me then get it shipped to him then direct to me, works out cheaper on shipping and my friend can give it the once over before sending it to me ;). kudos to 1sks, the prices are good and from responses i've had with enquirys all friendly (which is what i look for when scouting a knife dealer to go through).

1SKS has always done me right.

Selection is top drawer. Price is good. Service is fantastic. Of course, I use the 1-800 number, which is faster and more personal than e-mail.

I've always had my stuff quickly. Once I ordered an item that wasn't even on the web page and got it just fine. If you want your order two weeks earlier, just order 14 days ahead of when you would have otherwise ordered it. ;)
 
I got Rainbow Leeks from them when no one could get them. Also they were just a little over wholsale. I had them in Mi before any one else
at the shows I was at. I know some dealers that still havn't been able to get them.
