I live in NYC , 911 was complete devastation here, all the highways were shut down, people were lost driving the side roads trying to get home , my community where I live became a parking lot as I live just off the highway, all the cars that were directed off the highway formed a line that went back about 15 miles , people were driving in circles , me and another one of my neighbor's grabbed orange vests and went out to help put the people in the right direction but we had no idea what we were in for, people were in a complete state of panic , many had friends and family in the city and in the towers that no longer were standing , many were crying it was a very emotional day, we found our selves talking to people trying to tell them everything would be ok while also trying to get them back on the right path, we ended up doing this for 13 hours, never in my life have I seen NYC stand so close together , everyone was helping each other and getting along, as if we were all brothers in arms going to war, tears stream down my face as I write this , It was one of the worst days of my life but also a day I remember very well because how close it brought the city together, nothing seemed to matter to anyone that day except helping each other , I was 21 and was forever changed that day. Hope you guys enjoy this story .
Ps. Just incase my story wins, I would prefer one of our Serving military men gets the blade, I'm just happy to share.
