10 Greatest Hunting Vehicles of all time

Polaris Ranger and other similar UTVS get used quite a bit for hunting around where I live. They're small enough to get places a truck can't go and can get through terrain I wouldn't take my truck.

I'm partial to my daily driver. I take it places sane people wouldn't go and it just asks for more. It's rock solid reliable, has never left me or let me down, on road or off, and according to my county, worth more than I thought.

Old Toyota FJ40's are on my list.

I grew up driving and hunting in a 1975.

The article is getting closer to being due and I need to refine my list. For reasons of keeping this to 10 I am not including anything other than automobiles. I need to lose one of the SUV's and add another truck or wagon or something different. I think the Ford Bronco is on the chopping block. Anyone got any suggestions for a replacement?

I drive a 2000 f150 single cab shortbed. It's a 4x4 v6. The single cab short bed makes the truck short enough to navigate tighter trails, and light enough for the v6 engine and 4x4 to get it where you need it for the most part. It's leveled for a bit more ground clearance and the mud terrains give it the traction on softer ground.

Rented one of these in Jamaica in 1981 and quickly realized they would be the perfect mini-Jeep for going in those places where space was an issue. I've been a Jeep owner all my life, but I did own the Samurai and found it to be the perfect off roader for hunting and fishing.

I've done well with a 2005 F-150, a 2010 F-150, a 2012 F-150, and a 2014 F-350 with the 6.7L turbo diesel.
They haul us and the gear there with room to spare and bring home the meat without a hiccup. Being easily cleaned with a power wash to get the blood and mud off is almost as nice as how well they've all performed off road. The F-150's have done better than the 350, I assume it's because the 350 weighs another 2K pounds over the 150's that I've had.

Hands down the best thing since the horse for getting deep in the woods is an ATV, it changed my hunting and helps me get deeper into the forest than the guys who're half my age that still hoof it in to their spots. My ATV's have been a 2002 Kawasaki Prarie 650 4x4 and a 2009 Can Am outlander 800 4x4 - both are superb !

I have a Ford Raptor. Makes a pretty good hunting truck. Go anywhere for sure.

Honestly, I'm not sure what a "hunting vehicle" is, other than something to get me to the trailhead. I don't hunt from a vehicle, and in my experience the hunting only gets better the farther from vehicles you get.

I was just wanting to give a +1 to the International Scout II. Great old vehicles.

A hunting vehicle can get you further back into the backcountry and carry gear better than an urban sedan or most 2WD trucks. Yep, you have to walk from there, but you aren't going to walk from a city to a hunting area usually. Well I am not anyway. And I am not going to carry a deer or elk out on my back to my home. Along with my hunting and camping gear. Most people won't. They'll opt for a vehicle that can make the trip to and from their hunting area with their gear and hopefully any game they get. Thus a "hunting vehicle". Oh, it will even carry a pair or two of boots. And underwear.

I've taken any manner of vehicles to the drop off point to hunt. From an old Dodge Colt to an old Willys jeep to a Jeep J10 P/U to your standard plane jane F150 to a rental sedan on Lanai, etc. None had any effect on the success of the hunt.

This one gets me a long way up a trail before its time to hoof it.
