100 Year Anniversary Models

Couple of off the shelf 110's still in the clammies.

I had no idea there were so many variations of the '100 yr. Anniversary' knives . My 119 looks just like Preston's bottom 119 with the black spacers . Then my 110 has the same wording on the blade and the medallion . Plus the correct sheath . I remember one Wal-Mart having the four displayed for sale . The 119, 112, 110 and 501 in the wooden box shown by Plumber . I have seen the 532 shown by ITE at a knife show and liked the box but passed . This is interesting stuff . DM

I have several versions but with my lack of organization, it may take awhile to dig them out. That sounds like a good project for me.

O-yes, the coins . If you have them don't let them get away from you . I have two and they're buried under my Rottwieler's house . Guess I should keep them with the models . DM ;)

I have 3-2 110's one with anvil and one with 2003 stamp, a 444. Alos have a 2002 500 with no 100th aniv logo.

So in 2002 was the Anvil after the model number? Or are all knives made in 2002 just an Anvil. I looked threw some of my knives but all I could find were 100 year Anniversary no regular USA production model knives from 2002 .

I think in 2002 there were no models stamped. As a matter of fact I think someone just posted an old post from Joe about whether model stamps should be removed in all future production. Someone help me out where I saw this please.

IIRC, Joe or CJ will/can say for sure, Buck used the anvil for the 2002 knives without the model numbers to signify 100 Year Anniversary.

Thus their thinking was that every knife produced with that tang stamp would be an anniversary model.

Those BCCI members can go to the website and look at the 2002 catalog and see that there were some very special ones produced.

There were also special ones produced that are not in the catalog...now we're really going to have fun with this:D;):D.

Larry Oden was kind enough several years ago to list, for me, many of the 2002/100 year models that he knew of then - other than regular production runs. I'll post that tomorrow. Preston

Yes, Plumber posted that and as I read the wording : "in celebration of Buck's 100 year" not 100 yr. knives . This was the first time Buck had done this (replace the model #) except in the Custom shop of the mid 80's to early 90's . So, yes a major item . I have rather its in my daughter's collection a 112 FG with the anvil stamp, no medallion or wording on the blade . Do I consider it to be a 100 yr. Anniversary knife ? No . Do I consider it to be a knife of or from Buck's 100th year of production ? Yes, I do . This is just me and the knives of this year (Anvil stamped) are special for the reason above . Now, if you obtain a knife with additional stamping emblems, wording or symbols this moves it up the ladder of signifiance . More toward rare/ limited editions, ect.. Its similiar to the BCCI knives . They are all stamped with the club stamp many are fund rasiers or commerative special events (20yr. reunion ect.) but there is only one club knife each year . The 14kt. gold etched model . I'm still thinking on this one and enjoy viewing more of these rare/ unique models . Thanks . DM

I agree David-my anvil stamped 500 is just a 500 produced in 2002.

I don't think there are any regular production models on this list but I might have goofed:). Preston

Wow ! Nice list Preston . Several of those are limited editions I didn't know about and have not seen . Thanks . DM

Preston's list includes a 119 yellow spacered knife with "100 year blade etch." Here is a yellow spacered anvil stamped 119 without the blade etch but does include the 100 years sheath.

Telechronos:):):)

Hi Tele, nice knife...because of the on going discussion about what constitues a 100 Year Anniversary knife I left 'regular' production off that list. Does the box have the 100 Year 'sticker'?

I don't have that knife:o,wish I did...it was on the list from Larry O.

IIRC, Joe H.(?) stated that Buck was sent the yellow material either by mistake or 'cause they ran out and needed spacers ASAP...I really like the look.

Here's the WSP2-50(poor pic), it's still in the clam pack so the quality is not real good. Preston

Thanks, Tele., we can always depend on you for a contribution photo of a nice rare knife . Preston, I agree, as I recall Joe telling us the yellow spacers were a mistake . A different color was ordered but they recieved the yellow so, Buck used what they had .
Thanks for reminding me of that . Were the 501's the only '100yr. Anniversary' model that came with the coin ? Plumber, did one of the 110 Harley knives come with it too . We already know the 532 came with a wooden box as well . DM

David, the 501 is the only one I remember seeing with the coin...it's not listed in the 2002 catalog. IIRC. I bought mine on that auction site so I don't know who they were available from. Might be there are others with the coin.

Maybe someone will know. Preston

Just before I had to leave home Flatlander sold me a 100 year model 110 that Chuck Buck had scribed his name on the blade.I wish I had a photo to post.I want to thank Gordon for selling me that knife.
