Hi folks,
Well first I would like to thank everyone here in this forum for being so welcoming and helpfull, this really is one of the greatest places to 'hang out"
I admit that I was a fixed blade fan ( still am in a smaller way)...but folders have overtaken me by storm...Im now too far gone
Charlie invited me here in the first place when I showed a knife in Bernards, and then Roland stepped in and just showed me how awesome this place is...I cant even begin to mention ALL the other names since.......
So thank you Charlie for beginning my spiral downward journey of being broke
I would like to offer you folk this...
Here is a 1980 Carl Shlieper Canoe, knife was apparantely only made in this year!! its is pretty damned tidy- the photos show oil which may be mistaken as pitting, the Stag scales are real nice, N/S bolsters, Carbon Steel baldes, the main blade has one hell of a snap!!-very strong..the smaller one is weaker, both blades open nicely with nice action, has a few marks on one bolster-not major-can be seen in last photo of smaller blade end, on the reverse of the main blade has a scrape mark-you can see this in the photo's... a nice knife!...I love this knife-and I hope that the winner does as well.
To be able to enter?... lets make it a bit interesting, 25 posts in Traditional should be good ( a must ) , if you want.. please post a photo of any knife that would be classed as a Vintage..fixed blade - or a slip joint.
This is open to all, the mods as well - you guys do a lot of work so please... join in, and I just want to say thank you to everyone.
Just do me and you a favour by not giving this to a postal worker-and CHECK that your country will accept this-as I cant take responsibility for the course it takes once I post it.
Lets let this run till...say the end of Sept? that will give us pleanty of time...and my youngest and I will throw all names in a hat and she will reach in and decide the winner.
Good luck and post those photo's...
