Your knife is on it's way swimmerdude. Enjoy and get back with us on your
thoughts of the knife.

Thanks for your generosity to all of us svrider3...

The folks here have been so generous to me and a lot of others.
It's the least I could do to show my appreciation.
You guys are the best.

Congrats to the winner and thank you svrider3 for the contest. More importantly it made me write my daughter a letter last night. Not an email, but an honest to goodness letter. And most important of all, happy birthday to your daughter and enjoy every birthday to come! :)

It's things like this that just hit home. :)

I'm honored to be in such good company as you guys.

Hey guys, I just received the Shallot today!

What an AWESOME knife! It is just like a beefed-up larger size Leek and I love it!

I will post pics later tonight when I get a chance... thanks again for the contest!!

Here are the pics on this beast... I could definitely see this working itself into an EDC blade in the near future!!

About to change the clip to tip-up:

Closer picture of pivot:

Another macro shot:

I noticed that this knife is a little less snappy than a Leek... which is to be expected since it is considerably larger... however, when I went to loosen the pivot screw, I noticed it wasn't loosening out at all. Once I took off the clip, I noticed that the metal piece of the pivot on the opposite side was just spinning with each turn of the torx driver... any ideas on how to fix this? I think by loosening the pivot up just a hair might give it more "pop."

All in all... this is a fine blade and once I "break it in" might just be one of my favorites...

I've used a piece of rubber(like from an old bicycle tube) and place it under the clip,
then tighten the clip down and try backing the pivot screw out.

Oh BTW, nice pics. That knife looks really familiar. ;)

I think it seems that way (less snappy) because of the greater amount of "push" needed on the flipper. I suspect that's why there's no safety catch like there is on the Leek.

And yes, it's become my "business casual" EDC, too!

Thanks, that seems like a great idea.

Thanks again svrider... I'm now rapidly expanding my Kershaw lineup... :D:thumbup::thumbup:
