I know there have been quite a few threads on soddies lately, but after reading them ALL (well almost all;) ) I thought a thank you was in order.

My first came just the other day. Case Sodbuster in Yellow derlin.... CV of course:D

Love it. It came shaving sharp out of the box, but I just can't call a using knife MINE until I put a edge on it. So...... the water stones came out, and it can now shave my face if need be. So far it has been used to:

Slice a bagel
Open the mail
Cut my girls tuna sandwiches
Whittle down a 3/8" hardwood dowel

And a few odd and end things. Again love the knife. Thanks to all the recommended it. Some pics with the waterstones:

Way-ta-go tarmix!!

Welcome to the world of effortless cutting with soddies.

Of course you do realize at this point, that you are dammed and there's no turning back. Now you will hear a faint call in the dark hours before dawn, the other soddies are waiting. Klass, Eye-Brand, Boker, ...

They call me mellow yellow...quite rightly...

Not sure if that is what I was afraid of....... or hoping for:confused: :D

Thanks JK! You were one big reason I bought the soddie in the first place:)

Yep, everybody needs a Yellow Handled, Case Soddie, especially in CV. I guess you could say, it's becoming "traditional" around here. :D

My all the time knife. Just used mine to enjoy a grapefruit a few minutes ago. Then I got to stroke her down a little and look at her dark blade. Makes my night everynight.

You might consider it the Case version of the Bose Shadow Pattern BackPocket knife. ;)
Just may have to pick one up to go with my other yellow CV knives.

Seems to me that the Case CV yellow handles discussed here are the Moras of the W&S.S forum.

Can't get through a day without a new thread about them...... for good reason of course;)

I'm a big fan of Moras as well. Great knives.

Case yellow handle CV...there is just something about them that keeps me coming back to them. Not really any other knives that people can pull out that really stand out as different. Black is just like every mall ninja out there trying to look military.

I've been using one of those wood handle laminated blade mora's for years now, and its impressed the heck out of me. A really great cutter.

Now with a soddie in the pocket and a mora on the belt, you're ready to deal with just about anything. I've known proffesion trappers and poachers who never used anything more.

You guys are killing me! I recently won a CV Sodbuster on Ebay. It's a superb knife, but a bit big for my tastes, so I'm swapping it for a yellow CV Sodbuster Jr. with a fellow forumite. I can't wait to get it.

Case CV Sodbuster Junior, Kissing Krane small Brown Mule, and Queen Country Cousin.

The small sodbusters are the perfect size.

I've been reading everyone's comments on the Case CV Soddie and it got me interested, so I bought 1 today. Now I see what you all have been talking about!! I got it home, stuck it in a glass of lemon juice for about an hour and instant dark patina! Then fine tuned the edge and wow, this sucker is sharp and ready to use. Thanks to all who turned me on to this knife, What a workhorse!!!

Looks like they got you to ehh!;)

Congrats..... great little knife:thumbup:

Jivedaddy, welcome to the sodbuster luv club. ;) It's still interesting that such a simple knife with such a humble heritage still jumps right into knife aficionado's hearts when they get one. I guess it really represents the truth that traditional, working patterns still do the job exceptionally well.

Now, if ya haven't tried the peanut, ya gotta.

jivedaddy you are in deep trouble. Mine is like an old friend always there in my right front pocket. Several times each day I take it out just to look and feel it.
