104 Compadre vs. 632 Mesa

Interesting. In post #51, Buck Knives Inc. stated that the left over blades were already coated and serrated. The newly released 822s are not coated or serrated and have a 2026 date code. I wonder if Buck still has plans for the serrated and coated blades. Since they are essentially the same price, I would rather have a 104. To me, this new 822 is more similar to the 632 than the original, coated 822 with serrations.

this new 822 looks good, price not so much, but has an odd handle shape, least in the pics...might look much better in person and feel great in the hand?

also uses the 656 sheath which is kinda odd. its like a super piece meal use up the extras model......

The old molle type sheaths were a love / hate thing as well.
I almost prefer this sheath.
.....but I'm not interested at that price.
the plastic sheath the Walmart Mesa came in I highly disliked. was just cheap junk. the old 822 nylon style sheath i didnt mind myself. it wasnt much different than this 656 style sheath. only thing i dont care for on the 656 sheath is the green color doesn't match the knife really. not awful or anything, I just dont love the green and black with the grey handle. seems like it wasnt meant for that knife and it kinda wasnt. id rather have it all black.

Seems like a 104 sheath would work for this knife.
