Due to circumstances beyond my control I haven't posted any of my work in months. I'm still kick'n ;)

Here's one I just finished up.

I forged the blade from Aldo's 1095.

OAL 12-3/8"
Blade length 7-7/16"

Heat Treat was 4 normalizing cycles after forging, then clay coated for hamon, austenitized at 1480*F w/~15 minute soak, quenched in Parks #50. Tempered @ 425* F 1-1/2 hrs x 2, it came in @ ~ 60+ HRC. It has a full tapered tang, a soldered & pinned 416 stainless guard, a 655 silicon bronze spacer with a few .010 red spacers in between. Handle scales are Arizona Desert Ironwood backed with a .010 red liner. Handle pins & lanyard tube are also stainless.

I made the sheath from Weaver 9-10 oz. veg tanned leather. My wife Joanna has been doing the hand sewing on my sheaths lately. Pretty nice job too ;)

Hope you like her : )

I knew when you got a chance to spit shine it a bit, it was going to come out all ACES!

VERY nice piece my friend!!!  :D

Looks like your wife is doing a darn fine job too!

Gorgeous! That hamon is especially interesting...it almost looks like a desert mountain scene!

Sweet, clean and gorgeous. You do some really nice work... and the stitching on the sheath is clean too. Kudos to you and your wife.:)

I like that a lot. Nice package. The blade shape, I find interesting.

Tell the wife, very clean with nice subtle details.

Wait, I remember you. You're that moldmaker turned knifemaker.

Hey chief, nice to have you back. Perhaps the next time someone posts "How do I get my drill bit to cut sideways" you can chime in. You've been slacking...

I like the knife. But then again, I've been on your website, so I'm not surprised. Nice stuff.

Oh, the drill cutting sideways ? Drill from the top and have it come out the side ? I can actually do that :D Ask fitzo ;) It takes many years of practice and study though
