OK JB, You talked me into revealing my sources of loose 110 blades. Sometimes I knock knives apart to scavenge the blades. Here are "knapped" steel, BG-42, Ion Fusion, and A/G S-30-V blades all of which were removed from new factory knives.

ya have showed how ya made either the blade or the screwed 110 into a selector setup, but using of course 110 blades. least I'm thinking ya did, maybe my memorys bad on it?

ya mind sharing those pics again for us, Sir? thank you.

Changing blades is not the only benefit of the take apart knife. It also has interchangeable handle slabs. The ability to clean and oil the innards is also a desirable feature especially on a knife with a closed back. The pivot system on the take apart knife allows the adjustment of the tightness of the blade swing. On the regular 110’s and 112’s the thicknesses of the blade and its pivot bushing must be carefully sized relative to each other to ensure the proper action. There is no adjustment.
Sounds like a lot more trouble to me. I’ve never run into problems cleaning and lubing my 110s or 112s and once I get one I like I leave it that way. Interchangeable is cool but in functionality and practical use it seems unnecessary. I’ve had a changeable set of camp kitchen knives I thought would be nice but they ended up being more problematic than useful and more maintenance. Now that set takes up space in a storage cabinet while my other few non changeable knives are what gets used.

All you need to do is slab the pivot T-Nut and orient the flat spot to 6 o'clock. The eight sided head on the T'Nut sits in an eight sided recess and immobilizes the post.View attachment 1297229

I have experienced rust on blades and corrosion on sintered bronze washers. By disassembling the knife, I can lap the roughness away.

When it comes right down to it for the price of the 110 take apart you could buy 3 110 Slims or LT's and maybe 1of them in upgraded steel. I want a 112 version because the novelty and rarity it would be a collectable..and I'm absolutely ready to buy if and when it becomes available. I really hope we eventually see it and the BCCI gets the first one either take apart or aluminum framed. Maybe Buck will let us know what happened.
