112 Custom Rumor???

What I heard was that the CS will offer all the same options for the 112 as they are currently offering for the 110. Nothing was said about a drop point. But I'd like to see a drop point.
 
Even if there was a limted 'window' for CS 112's its still GREAT! In fact that might be the best most cost effectent way for Buck to do it....Sort of like gearing up for a LE .Say they take orders for a limted time,We know we dont mind waiting 2-3 months for delivery.Buck could know just what they have to make...Sort of testing the waters...If this works out and they make a profit, well,other models might follow

I'm with you. I think it's best for them to say we're doing this for x months, then it's done/gone for now.

Pick another model and continue with a run on it for x months. I wouldn't do the models that are not the big of a seller but I'm sure there are several that they could rotate through.

May even be a good idea to publish the plan for the year, that way guys could ponder it a bit and the casual Buck fan who checks the site may decide to come back in a few months and order again if he knows the model he wants will be made then.

A wait for a few months is not an issue for me. Waited years for Randalls.

There is nothing that would keep any one from ordering a custom shop 112..Or any custom shop knife!!!!

It is MY personal feelings that BCCI members should have the opportunity to buy any new un-advertised offerings as an encouragement to join the BCCI for that 'Privilege of Membership' in the same way as official fundraiser and club issue knives are now.
The above post was an indication (hint) related to that line of thought.
I would like to see that happen but I have no input in to that decision at all!

But I don’t say to join only for those reasons I said above.. join cause you like the brand and the people of the club and that you may want to show your collection as some do..
there is a LOT of fun and camaraderie in being at knife shows with friends!
And all buck collectors are friends even if you disagree some times!

the most i do that could be officially connected to Buck Knives is every year is i sponsor my annual -
Dave' Buck Knife Sales Slogan Contest
in which all entries become property of Buck Knives Inc..
and that it is judged by some one at Buck {{if i can bribe them to do it..}}
which BTW will start before Thanksgiving this year and it may be for a 110 instead of a smaller Buck..

I think I would buy a 112 with SV 30 or BG-42 just as a nice carry knife, Ive had a few hundred knives the last few years and never purchased one primarily as a carry knife but the buck 112 is gorgeuos and a nice size for the pocket. For me to carry it would just need something a little upmarket in the blade material.
 
Well I expected that an announcement post would have been made by now. :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

I tried to call Pete to see if we were strait on my CC info (seems they shredded it) and if my two 110 shipped on Thursday or Tuesday. I also was going to ask if he'd take an order for some 112s but I got is the answer machine. :(

Anyway, I'll see if I can get through to Pete in the morning.
 
Thanks for the reply to my query about BCCI, Flatlander1963 :) I eagerly await any news about a CS 112!
 
Pleased to report it is not a rumor!! Just got off the phone with Pete, having placed an order for two custom shop 112's. This will apparently be a limited offer for approximately a month.
 
So why am I always the last one to hear about this stuff? :grumpy:

Earlier this week I dispelled this rumor to an eager caller. "No way this would happen without me knowing about it" I told him....
I guess next time I better call 334Dave first? :rolleyes::D:D

So I will be contacting Sarah for details and relaying them here. :)

Anyway TinSue, pricing same as 110? I didn't ask that question. Also, what did you order?
 
the reason for Joe's comment was i believe this was formed up late june that it would happen and it would be a temp thing..
kinda like a "test" in about 90 days from when i first told Joe of it....
dang sure wouldn't be a suprized ta me ta see a fixed blade maby..
or has any one thought to ask?

The bad news is......no more BG-42 (at least as far as Pete knows).

He said there might be a possibility of some CPM being found, but other than that possibility......and as far as he knows for sure now--it's S30V or 420HC.

Which is ok, I guess, but it sure would be nice to be able to match custom 112s to my custom 110s in BG.

Oh well.

Well, to further avoid spoiling Sarah B's announcement, which I apparently have already done to some degree, I'll hold off until she does, but they are close in price.

yes for those of us that have to have a custom shop 112...
we takes what we can gets...
and if they dont have it we cant get it...

i gots me one already ...
dont know what steel it is but suspect it is bg42 as it is from dem days..

oh well any thing is better then nothing...
or as real old old timers used to say.. half a loaf is better then none!

Based upon this insider information, I'm betting we'll see a Custom Shop 119 shortly as well. :D Dang, I wish I had some insider stock trading information this reliable! ;)
 
I am going to quit reading this thread, I am caught up in the talk and actually was thinking I needed to order a nickled bolstered, elk scale, SV30. Stop, stop, no, no I could get several 300s for that money. Someone help....I am sinking fast........
