Thanks trog, Are you going also? I would really like to go just to meet the ''gang''.

Yeah it would be cool to meet the "Gang". Most likely I won't be able to make it, we'll see how things play out. Our wonderful economy took care of that decision for me.

Hello, gentlemen (and others).;)

I've been gone about a week. My weak lower back was first stressed out by two days of too much lifting and carrying ... helping wife's business, then taking over when all the kids got "too busy" to help wife out with her big, annual Soroptimist's holiday party.

Then, I took a little fall in the driveway.:grumpy:

Monday last, could not rise out of bed. Very painful back.

I've been assuming it's just soft tissue damage -- that I outraged all those little stabilizer muscles in the lower back. I've done it before!! However, it's been a week and I can still only get around with a cane. One bad step or twist and pains shoot out of my lower back, particularly down the right leg. However, no numbness (so I doubt I've got any nerve damage).

I haven't pushed it with my docs, since I'm on the military retiree system. They're very much over-stressed with low $$, support to massive overseas deployments, and the recent flu fears. In fact, I haven't been able to get what we call a "same day" appointment all week. I have been invited to "just go to the emergency room" -- but that's a ridiculous use of scarce resources.

So. Should I just tough this out till I get better, or push to visit the doc just in case?? I'm of two minds on the subject.
