G rated knifes question. Could the treat on a maul take a good edge?

I would think it will take a decent edge, but the real question is how long the edge will hold. The steel and HT are probably intended for ductility/toughness.

I guess momma knows what to get me for Xmas.

I estimate that knife was .080 at the thickest through the middle down to .030 at edge, guys just use common sense, I am not a factory, I put lots of time into these for specific purposes, at any time you feel you have bought the wrong type blade let me know. We will do what we can to get you the knife you need,

I don't think I could break my Camp Blood unless I accidentally shipped it to noss4.

Jeremy, make my thin SPDR, and I'll treat it right! :D

You just got to the top on my customer service list.:thumbup: Keep it up J!

500 bird and trout. Lol. I'm a tad sentimental. These knives I make are few, and my legacy. No problems I just get attached,,

You can probably fuggatabout that bird and trout you were wanting :D

Yea. I thought about that. I'm selectfully hard on my knives. I've had the same 110 my whole life, but almost immediatley broke the tip off my para.

Back from the chaos out there.....

Made it to Lee Valley and was pleasantly surprised they carry surgi sharp - picked up two belts ;) just in case -

I'm back in business --- to dull my blades lol.....

.

+1:thumbup::thumbup:

I bent the edge of my Camp Blood and just recently my Camp2 chopper, both A2.
I straightened both with a large round screwdriver shaft and sharpened to hair poppin.

I was amazed that the blades, ''bent'' at all.

I really expected to see chips out of both.

same thing happen to my Camp Blood - straightened it with the screwdriver and sharpened right up.

Awesome :D

so I'm pretty dumb when it comes to compounds.... what are the different colors for?

I've also heard of people using Mother's,,,, anybody got opinions on that?

I have black / green / pink from JRE Industries.

Brian knows all about them - I think he said Black is equivalent to 1800grit. You can get hair poppin sharp with black and green - the final extra bit with pink and plain leather.
