Has anybody seen a large knife that has a blade 12+ in long and .3 in thick? I am kind of an extremist and LOVE big knives. Has anybody heard of such a thing or am I crazy? Thanks

Kaleb

Justin Gingrich (Ranger) .... anything you want.

I guarantee he is the fastest to get it to your door ... with a lifetime warranty.

He had this ready for me in less that two weeks .... S7, .25, 11" blade, 16.5" OAL

He squeezed it in right before he was coming to Ca. and delivered it ! lol

He's the man !

Nice looking blade. I am not looking for one right this moment more like this coming summer fall. Thanks guys, keep them coming.

Awesome looking blade Sargent 666

The only other blade I know that comes close to that is the Busse NMFBM, which is 11" long and .25" thick. The FFBM is 10" long and .32" thick.

Sounds like your best bet is have a custom knife maker make you one.

Thanks bro!

NMFBM someday $$$$$$$$ :D

I was mostly looking at getting pics for ideas. I am going to be going with a custom maker when I can make my mind up. The maker will probably be Jim Baker.

18" overall, 12.5" blade, .25" thick: Chris Reeve Knives' Sable -- a very large Sable. It is part of a run of 13 knives that size. The small knife under it is a Sable III with a 4" blade. Also 2 large Sebenzas, an Umfaan, and a Mnandi.

Never knew those existed !

... & BTW the NICA Tanto has one of the coolest Tanto grins that I've seen. Should have kept mine ....

There aren't many. Anne Reeve couldn't remember how many of the 13 were spear point or clip or straight. This is # 8 of 13. I haven't seen any others for sale or even on display.

It is a strange sight: so big, and so perfect.

Being that it started out as one piece of steel turned on a lathe and then finished into a blade that size .... I'd say it is pretty darn impressive !!

I bet it is tough. S7 is the same steel Scrapyard Knives use and its a really good steel. Love the finish on it too.

Justin polished it before the heat treat so that is the oxidation after wiping off the scale.

I wanted the "Found it in an apocalyptic rubble pile" look.

Yeah, that is one of my dream knives. To bad it is very hard to come by, and when you can at a high price.

I did not mention that I was probably going with Jim Baker because I wanted to see if there was anybody else. I like Jim's style and he responds to emails very well. I have plenty of time to think and plan about this one so I am getting as much input as possible. Thanks
