12 inch Sirupati -- no kami mark and 1/2 inch crack in handle. Pix. $50 delivered.

Rob it's much better to have your scalp lifted rather than the alternative even if you don't think it collectable.

I have never heard of any ndns doing one of the things the yonegi did which was collecting the scrotum from ndn men and the breast from ndn women and making tobacco pouches from them.

But then I wouldn't want a piece of someone's anatomy like this to hold and keep my tobacco in.

Howard the CS knives are wonderful kitchen knives among other uses!!!
What sort of puzzles me is the current common belief that all survival knives have to be thick and heavy when in reality when the West was under exploration and settlement knives such as the CS blades were the most common of the day.
People who used these knives used them as a knife should be used and didn't over torque them.

Another little bit of trivia is that when these knives were purchased they came with no edge at all.
That was so because the end user put on the kind of edge they wanted and some were for specfic purposes.
Many of the old knives were sharpened on one edge only for specific purposes such as taking the final membrane off the inside of skins, but many people think this is a new innovation in the world the knife.

Well I didn't get a 12" Sirupati, but I did aquire a 12" Ang Khola.
biggrin.gif

I got to see and handle the little babies that my little Bro Rusty has, but they didn't much appeal to me at the time for some reason.
And several of the khukuri's I have are on the larger side.
And sometime ago I finally came to the conclusion that _for me_ the middle size models from 16"- 18" were the most useful and are my favorites.
biggrin.gif

But with that all said I am gonna have to crawfish a lttle.
biggrin.gif

For those of you who don't understand the term"crawfish" it means that I am moving backwards, since when in danger or fright the crawfish moves backwards quickly.
biggrin.gif

And though I am not in danger or frightened I still have to back
up.
This little AK is one fine khukuri, a 10 out of 10 rig as we like to say.
And now having one of my own I can appreciate the concealability of this size khukuri, although I already knew that since I have often carried my little 13" "balance" model when I didn't want people to know I was armed.
So perhaps I have been confused or confounded by the khukuri spirits, but in reality probably just not thinking matters through. Just call it a senior moment that was extended.

This is yet another example of the khukuri art by Durba and like the rest of y'all who have long touted Durba's skill I have to agree.
This little beauty is well hardened and executed throughout.
I am having one helluva time getting an edge on it even with my DMT hone!!
And it is one pretty little thing besides its other qualities!!!!
Any potential it may have hasn't bothered me as yet, but I haven't had a lot of time to play with it since it arrived a couple of days ago.
But I do seem to sense an underlaying something that could be deadly.
I will Smoke it off with Sage before I go too much further with it.
At least then if it has to remove a piece of someone's anatomy it won't be done with malice.

Walosi I sadly have to agree with you about carrying 2 somethings around Tulsa.
I even hate going down by the tulsa County Courthouse and especially if I have to enter the building because that means I have to leave the somethings in the vehicle or even not take them, but that just aint never gonna happen.
And there are places on the north side that I don't wanna be in in the daytime let alone after dark.
I don't believe it would be possible to convince anyone there that my real name is Bubba.
smile.gif

But there are still some areas there that one can get into and out of if one doesn't linger.
And the best barbeque in Tulsa is still made on that side of town.

Yvsa:

Even with all we've said, I still get homesick for the place, even knowing that most of what I'm remembering just ain't there no mo.

I get to throw your words back at you - You're gonna love that little AK. Haw! (Just had to get that out of my system, but it is true) It was my second, but even though I get excited over each new one and the nuances of each, the AK still has it's own peculiar place. It will be my carry blade, and as Rusty posted, it is a perfect companion for a five-shooter. The Sirupati has proven itself, but the AK still sticks in my mind as the more proper one for this role.
