$12 knife vs. $12 knife ? Which one ??

In spite of the fact that I happen to be a Finn, I say go with a Mora. It's the original Scandi beater knife. Actually, I bought a bucket (yes, a bucket) full of Moras last weekend. I think it was like 50 random Moras for 60 € or something like that. :D

I will go against the flow here,I have two finnbears and I really like them. I find the sheath better than any mora sheath yet. yes I own and like moras. the other thing;for 12 dollars why don't you buy both and form your own opinion. twelve bucks is what? two starbucks coffees? having typed this post and reread has given me an idea. I am going to see if any of my moras fit finn bear sheath

The Mora 2000 is great too if you want to put the funds together and move a step up. Instead of getting two just get the Mora 2000. You won't be disappointed. Also, may I recommend Marttini Knives from Finland. They are great as well. Just as sharp as a Mora and they have thicker blades and leather sheaths for not that much more $$$$.

After watching noss's destruction test i was really impressed by how well the mostly rubber gripped Clipper stood up.
I find the clipper grip to be very comfortable but in that test the rubber grip itself seems to have been the weakest part of the clipper.
I think i'd go with the hard plastic handled Moras just for the added handle strength.

I'd probably pick a Mora Triflex or the 510.

Martinni make good knives. Frosts (of Mora) also make some excellent more upmarket knives themselves. I have several of the Lapplander series, and they're of very good quality. Another Scandi firm I like are Brusletto of Norway, who produce good knives throughout their price range.

Mora, preferably in carbon steel (unless you are in a H&H or very wet enviroment).

The people have spoken! I think we can all agree that Mora's are not to be trusted!

psssst... get the Mora.

They both work fine- but I prefer the Mora. I wish the FinnBear had an actual Scandi grind.

I just got two Mora 946's that have a 4" length blade x .96 thickness, very similar to the 2000 for $12.98 each at Ben's backwoods. A great knife at a great deal.
