$120 for a Delica?

Is a Super Gold steel Delica worth it? Even in a limited run that seems a little high.

I'm in for 2 of the Enduras too, just because of the exclusivity. I'll keep one and probably sell one here on the exchange when I get them. Also because the Endura is one of my favorite staple knives from Spyderco.

Super gold is a very good steel especially for edge retention.

Is it worth it? It's a run of 1000 so it will be rare increasing costs.

It is worth it, but not to everybody. In any case SG2 rivals some of the other super steel in edge retention.
Test on a fallkleven at 62hrc. The spyderco is said to be 64hrc?? Anyways sgps = super gold powdered steel aka sg2

I read the description and it seems to SG2 had a lot of traction a few years ago.
I would think if a Delica was offered in M390, Spyderco wouldn't be able to make enough.

I’m kind of glad that Spyderco does runs of their popular knives in interesting steels. In terms of non powdered steels the “tier” of 154cm, vg10, n690 was always one of my favourites. That was sort of my sweet spot for a while before s30v started showing up everywhere.

I am excited to try the powdered metal forms of these steels. That said I better get started. I haven’t even tried cpm154 or rwl-34 yet. I hope SG2 will be a good steel and catch on so I will get to try it one of these days.

Hmmm 27 days to find and not spend $120+ it is a nice looking knife the Delica is great, have a plain purple, and it has potential to be resold for more if I later decide to sell it. It is tempting but other knives I am expecting are of bigger interest to me at the moment will just have to see how the month goes. I am also tempted by the Endura since I don't have one but part of why I don't is that I like the Delica in hand so much better.

That's my understanding.
Massdrop hasn't "ordered" the run yet, so I assume they have to take their place in the production schedule. That factory isn't exclusive to Spyderco...

I’m in for an endura. I was so excited I went to my local knife shop and bought an endura 4 in ZDP-189. Woow what a knife I love the size and weight and feel.

Now are people going to treat this sg2 version more like a collector item or are people going to use them? Just curious.
