$120 for a Delica?

I’m in for an endura. I was so excited I went to my local knife shop and bought an endura 4 in ZDP-189. Woow what a knife I love the size and weight and feel.

Now are people going to treat this sg2 version more like a collector item or 7are people going to use them? Just curious.
I'm going to use mine.

Iirc I remember them saying 1000 total and 500 for the first drop? Or is it 500 for Delica and 500 for endura? Also remember if it sold well they would order more.

They specifically say only 1000 will ever be made, so I'm guessing they'll stick to that!

Delica has officially hit 500 sold. I'm guessing the secondary market will be crazy for these.

Says you won’t be charged until the end of the drop whatever that means... i already see the charge pending

These are sort of extra cool since the standard versions come in vg10 and these are supposed to come in the pm steel version of that.

I was really hot for one of the Enduras a few days ago. The fire has faded as I’m saving for something bigger. I anticipate these becoming quite valuable...but my rule is to only buy knives that truly interest me. I’m only moderately interested.

Question for people that know more about this steel. When I read some of the things about it sounds like a good steel and with good toughness/ductility and corrosion resistance so why did they clad this for the run at least the images look to suggest it is a clad steel.

Probably because the dimension needed is available for purchase from the supplier, and they didn't need to special order it.

Also, I believe this factory "stamps" their blanks, and, depending on the structure of the sheet goods, the cladding allows them to work with more alloyed steels. (I'm remembering this from a discussion when the super blue Delicas, et al, came out, and was clad, while the Calys were monolithic)

I’ve never ordered from this website before. It shows there are 500 available for “this drop” yet it shows 545 purchased and it shows it’s still available. I’m tempted...

So what happens if I place the order now with over the 500 sold? Do I have to wait even longer?

Right now the order is for 1000 pieces. The plan was for 500 of each but now they're doing 600 Delica, 400 Endura.

Ummm, the line on the bevel of the blade where you can see the transition between the two laminated steels is not a hamon...

Hilarious MassDrop

Maybe there is another line

Edit: I’ll be looking forward to a hamon as well as the lamination line ;)

It’s ok it’s an honest mistake I’m sure. Just maybe would he nice if they knew their own product.

Actually rereading what massdrop posted I think they are saying the lamination line creates a visual effect similar to a hamon. It is confusing though because many Japanese swords are laminated and thus have both a lamination line and a hamon.
