$120 for a Delica?

Actually rereading what massdrop posted I think they are saying the lamination line creates a visual effect similar to a hamon. It is confusing though because many Japanese swords are laminated
and thus have both a
lamination line and a hamon.

I don’t think they will have a hamon line. Only the lamination line. You never know though sometimes knives auto hamon without the maker’s intent. Seems to depend on steel type and thickness along with heat treat. Also the finish on the blade will determine if you can see it or not.

I’ve had it happen to a Spyderco before.

No idea how prone sg10 steel is to autohamon. The knives above in decending order are BD1, 440c and 12c27.
 
120 doesnt seem too bad at all for a limited run Delica. The regular one is usually around 75 bucks, so thats not much of a jump. And that neat little bit of gold they threw on there is nice.

I’ve got a Delica and endura in vtoku and the calypso pre ordered as well... I got in within the first 30 minutes at KC, so hopefully it is honored this go around.
 
I ended up holding off since I plan on getting a v-toku delica, although I really liked how the super gold is stainless.
 
Since the v-toku sprints have been brought up, did you have to pre order?

You received yours already? I won’t prepay, so I’ll have to wait for the bulk to come in I guess. Hap40 were available for awhile, so I’m not worried these will sell out on preorder. I must have missed the email notification, no way am I chasing folders, that’s a sure way to end up overpaying on the secondary. If they don’t make enough for everybody who wants one, I’ll be happy with the 50 or so spydies I already have.

All pre-ordered. No charge yet, and I don’t have any of them.
 
Took another look at the SG2 Delica and Endura. Man, what the gold color lockbar is about? It is a big turn off for me.
 
I personally think the gold lock bar is a nice touch on this knife. I missed out on the Delica drop, but managed to get in on the Endura drop and when it makes its way into my hands this fall, I'll likely try and have some ebony or some other dark wood scales made for it to class it up; the contrast of the gold coloured lockbar with the dark wood scales should compliment each other well. At the very least, the colour scheme seems to work for CRK.

I think a lot of people were turned off by the price and the gold lock bar. The price, I mean it’s an exotic PM steel so whatever, the gold ...I think it would be less “offensive” if it was with sonething like Pakkawood scales.

Is it true that SG2 and R2 are the same steel?
