124 Frontiersman added to Custom Shop

Forgive me if it is obvious (had a few too many drinks yesterday so the brain is a little slow today) but how is the new ebony custom different from the 2021 Legacy Collection version which has an ebony handle ("limited to 2021 production" on the COA) ?
I have one of those...but don't feel like digging it out...is it billboarded? I can't remember.

the custom shop one has custom stamped in the steel.

you're right though, close enough......

Legacy Collection, "2021 LIMITED EDITION" on the front of the blade. Ricasso stamped on the back "BUCK 124 date U.S.A"

New custom, not saying you are wrong, but from the pictures it shows "BUCK" with the anvil and "USA" on the back ricasso. Maybe "Custom" is on the front ricasso ?

Same knife to me if that is the only difference between the two, "2021 LIMITED EDITION". Now being produced as a custom when 2021 COA says only in 2021.

I'm probably wrong...didn't look at pics just guessed being 420hc steel and think they used to stamp custom on the blades or I thought they did.....

Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. Many Thanks for any role you played in getting the 124 added to the Custom Shop. Couple thoughts/questions I'd like to direct your way....

Is the Cocobolo a solid wood or the laminate we are accustomed to on the Heritage Series?

Can you confirm the tang is marked with a traditional stamp and not an acid etch?

Seems to me a "Buck Knives Always Sharp" 124 hat could /should be added free of charge?

they did or do acid etches? thought Buck did stamping on 420hc steel and laser etching on all else?

I'm hoping this is a sign that micarta will be options on other custom models. The OD and burgundy micarta look great.

Lack of steel choice is the only thing stopping me. Brass and OD micarta 124 would be absolutely slick, but at that level of premium pricing I'd want a step up in steel, like 5160.

If 420 is the only option, I'll just wait til the standard model gets back in stock at half the price of the custom.

I can't see knife with all the banners shooting at me from the top and bottom. At least move the Handle cover selections to the top of the list. Shouldn't be this hard.

Thank you, I am very happy we got the project online. The Cocobolo is a dymalux material similar to what we use in the current 100's series Heritage line. The 420HC blades have our Custom stamp. We only stamp and laser etch and are working on a new process even for those.

ya do know if I liked that post it probably means I read that post......I dont usually like stuff I didn't look at, read or agree with in some form.

Nothing meant by my response to your post other than a simply FYI. All good on my end. Also, just another FYI. I don't check anyone's "likes".

I am pretty sure this is exactly what you guys were asking for?
Definitely what I was asking for BUT...I am a bit disappointed that I can not order a 124 Custom and a 119 Custom exactly the same. I cant get the exact same blades or sheaths. The sheath issue I can get around but not the blade. Currently I have to order the 119 with a S30V Blade to get satin finish and no groove to match the appearance of the 124 420HC satin blade.

A matching set 119/124 with stamped, no fuller, 420hc blades would be divine.
