13 1/2 Inch Walrus/W-2 Bowie in the Japanese Style -Photos Added

John you have not only arrived but have come and gone with that one. It is an incredible melding of 2 styles. Very clean and crisp yet it flows with all the grace of a traditional Japanese knife. Very Cool!!!! This one gets a bookmark.

Elegant, distinctive, classical and modern. A master's master class in the knife art.

I definitely want to see this one John. Very cool. It incorporates so many different elements and does so very well. You are the man.

Yes, well, we'll try to overlook the shortcomings.

I think it's a just about perfect mix of Eastern and Western styles, acknowledging both equally well. I do think that a wooden scabbard would be a neat addition. :)

That this is a take-down piece really impresses.
In addition to the awesome design and execution already mentioned.

That is insane, John! What a blade! Love how you have combined the styles. Makes an old collector want to break out into a little 'Come Together'. :D

John,

I'd like to echo everyone's praise. Just a beautiful incorporation & blending of styles. You've quite a talent. Wish I could see it first hand.

OK whats wrong with this picture whats wrong.................

Nothing WOW!!!!!!!!!

I have often wondered how that would look and I must say well done indeed!!!!

Cool knife John --- way different for you, but way cool. Hopefully it'll be on the table at Blade for a gander...

Thanks for all the encouragement. This has been an idea sparked partly by watching Stuart B's journey, and by the sheer beauty of Japanese sword art.

Finding a Walrus tusk with much exposed tapioca, reminding me of ray-skin, gave me the central design inspiration.

Some unfamiliar operations fell right into place when working on this one, and a couple more beat me like a rented mule, but it's done now, and I'm pleased so many seem to like it.

Those who can, please come by at Blade, take a close look, and let me know what you think after you hold it and look it over.

I've got another, very different, piece of Walrus..

John
