What would be the best $150 and under folder out there? No assisted opening knives or flippers/thumbstuds.

Tom Krien flat ground metal scale endura if you can find one. Not a fan of VG-10 though so maybe the ZDP-189 FFG endura. Hate the plastic scales though.

I've had a lot if folders in this range. Another vote for the Spyderco PM2.

What are you're expected chores? Regulations around blade length in your area? giving more info produces better recommendations.

Paramilitary 2. I keep looking for reasons to carry a different knife, but I always end up with the damn thing in my pocket.

I'm also recommending the common theme. Spyderco's Military and Paramilitary 2 are unbeatable in their (folding knife) price range.

Maybe I'm reading too much of the other thread on spyderco PM2 disappointment, but is it worth a chance to go for the PM2? Did yours arrive in great condition without any adjustments or did you have to send it back?

Best for what? Different knives do different thing well. The paramilitary for example makes a poor paring knife.

I find the good old swiss army knives take alot of beating.
