15061 Grizzly Ridge

This is just nitpicking. But is sort of bugs me the pocketclip isn't centered on the orange part of the handle material. Seems like it could have been angled ever so slightly to accommodate the design flow.

Still want to get one in my hands. Looks like a great package. Orange anodizing is among my favorite colors and I think others are appreciating it too, blue is too easy a choice (and anodized). So this and the crooked river are absoloutley on my want list.

Great job Benchmade!

Funny you mention that as in my above pics I'm not 100% sure where the pocket clip is supposed to be located. That was the only issue I had on mine and didn't notice it until after a day carrying it in my pocket around the house. The screws were loose and causing the clip to obviously move from side to side. I couldn't find a great pic on the web of where it was intended to be from the factory so I played with it in my pocket and tightened it down to where it felt the best.

Maybe Benchmade Benchmade can chime in and confirm the exact location.

I noticed last night every screw on my GR was very loose, all at about 50%, I had to tighten each one down quite a bit. Anyone else notice this in theirs? Some assembly required?

Clips shouldn't be loose. This is the designed location of the clip.

This one looks like a real winner to me. I'm trying to sell some stuff so I can buy one of these.

I love the handle of the FREEK (don't own one, but got one for a friend). Can anyone compare the girth/comfort of the Grizzly Ridge handle to that of the FREEK?

I just ordered one from REI. Really excited to get sone use on this knife. I'm interested to see how I like the slight recurve

Got the grizzly ridge. Unboxed it and have been using it the last few days. Really really like it, at first I had some hesitation but it has really really grown on me!

I have a axis lock question. Are you supposed to be able to close the knife with the axis lock by using one side or the other, finger or thumb alone, or do you always have to pinch both sides to close? Out of the four Benchmades I own, only 2 have the axis locks ;) ones a frame lock and ones a back lock.

Thanks

Oh, also, mine came in a blue blue class Benchmade box? Not a hunt series brown.

Any reason for that?

Hey Jimmy Benchmade Benchmade , could you help me answer the axis lock opening question and why mine came from REI in a blue box and has BB at the end of the model number please?

You should be able to disengage the axis lock with one or two fingers. Most people use their thumb and index finger.

Your 15061 is in a blue box because REI does prefers the blue packaging instead of the hunt packaging.

Gotcha. Thanks. So, the BB stands for "Blue Box" then? ;)

After much internal debate on which Benchmade would join my Mini Grip on the collection, I just took delivery of the Grizzly Ridge. I had everything from a Bugout to a Loco in my cart before I finally decided on this one. I'm glad I did. It feels wonderful in the hand, the blade is perfectly centered, lock up is tight, and the action is smoother than the Mini Grip was when I first got it. It's good looking knife and priced well for a Benchmade. The blade came sharp and processed the shipping box in short order.

I've got a North Fork, which is slightly smaller than the GR, and I love it. It quickly became my EDC. I think the GR may be my next knife.

Any ideas on how durable the handle material is? I worry that it's going to wear like Kraton, which is not very well at all.
