17 pounds of infi, lots of of paint and fire..... pic heavy

How was I rude? I was honest, which is not the same thing. I would be doing him a disservice if I blew smoke up his tailpipe and said something that was untrue.

And, my comment was in fact solicited- this is a thread posted on a public discussion forum. all responses received are solicited.

I never said all his crafts look bad, nor did I insult him. I merely commented on the appearance of the one piece.

I believe we agree to disagree then. As most artist's do.

not that your asking for it, but i am one of a hanfull of fine artist that have translated carreers in the business world and retained a fine art carreer.... i also have battled the demons of 'an art brain' ..... i speak on occassion at a few schools, high schools as well as fine art schools on a variety of subjects, i do this for free and at my own expense because i think i have valuable information and life experiences that can help..... also there are a hanfull of folks that made huge impacts on my life with very simple 15 minute conversations.... they took me serious when i was 11 years old.... talked to me with respect and i heard them.... old physics you deserve alot of credit for not telling your child 'that is no way to make a living' and if you have ever even expressed concern to her of 'how practical' an art career is... run , do not walk to her and tell her how sorry you were for doubting her.... its hard for parents to watch a child walk into an idea that doesnt translate into a secure means of making money.... so you my friend (old physics) deserve respect and praise for doing this with support and love.....anyway.... my point is
you should have her come up to my shop for a few days.... she could use a plasma cutter to make something fun.... and hear me rant and rave about what it takes to maintain sanity

art is more than skills or techniques..... it is life.

and by the way i find it funny that JERRY is a theater major...... there is a portion of jerry's business that reminds me of mine in so many ways.....

Thank you. :)

My wife has helped me moderate 'my natural tendencies.' I have not tried to dissuade her from being...well, what she already is. She's not perfect, but she is my daughter, so I'll stand behind what she wants to do.

Don't be surprised if she knocks on your door one of these days! :)

Jerry and theater. Yes. It makes perfect sense!!:cool:
