Love the overall design. The whole knife and sheath pops and I agree that the sycamore was a great choice on your part. I sent some sycamore off to be stabilized and hope I have a few pieces are nice as yours.

I'm really impressed with your sense of proportion and form. The lines of the handle and the beautiful figure work together perfectly. It's a damn big blade, but at first glance, has the grace of a smaller blade. Great job on both the knife and sheath.

Yes Daniel. I don't have a mill. Every guard is drilled, filed and fit by hand.

That's a beautiful beast! Man, everything looks just about (if not) perfect to me! It is misisng one thing however, a straight profile shot to get a real sense for it's shape, size and proportions. I love the wide blade on it, which is why I mainly want to see a straight profile shot of it. ;)

Love that sheath too, very classy! Beautiful job and great overall pakage! Thanks for sharing :)

Here you go Paul. It's a crappy iPhone pic in the basement but you'll get the scale. It was shot against a 1" grid.

And here's another lousy pic taken in sun light so you can get a sense of the hamon activity in the steel.

Man, what a sweat profile! Yea, it looks like you got some pretty cool "auto" hamon action goin on in there, unless you clay hardened? Either way, looks very cool, like a blade shaped window into the sky on a sunny day, with some white puffy clouds ;) . I agree with Stacy, the grain on the sycamore was positioned perfectly, those sections always have the most shimmer (chatoyance) too. Thanks for taking the extra pics. :)

Thanks Paul. I did use clay but it didn't come out as "focused" as I'd have liked. it still looks kinda cool, I guess.
