2,010 posts as of today!
After I posted my '2,000 posts' thread here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=651238&highlight=cpr, I decided I'd go ahead and work the 'giveaway' tradition as folks here are prone to do. It's the least I can do to show my appreciation for all the fun & learning this forum has brought to me.
I'm giving away two U.S. made Schrades, in my favorite pattern, the Stockman. Both have carbon steel blades. (I heard a rumor of there being another type of steel? Other than carbon? Any truth to that?
)
Ya'll know the drill: pick a number, between 1 & 1,000. On Sunday, June 14th*, I'll have Elias (my son) shuffle around the numbers in my old fishin' hat and pick the first winner.
I'm giving away two, so there will be two separate draws, and two winners; shipping is on me.
First is a Schrade 34OT; called a 'Middleman' Stockman. Used, nice & sharp, patina on all blade surfaces. Standard Old Timer type. (My favorite. :thumbup
Number two is an 896K, a (Small? Medium?) serpentine Stockman pattern. Same deal: used, carbon steel, patina, decent snap (but a little softer than #1), good & sharp as well.
Here is a description of #2, originally posted by orvet in 2006. [orvet - I hope you don't mind me using this from your post in the Schrade collector forum.]
896K Slim Premium Stock knife; 3-9/16"; K-horn celluloid handles; clip, sheepsfoot & spey blades; brass linings; nickel silver bolsters & federal shield. The difference is this 896K has jigged, dark brown delrin (?) scales.
Da rools:
1. You must be a contributing member of the Traditional forum here, for the last several months.
2. Only folks in the U.S. & Canada are eligible.
3. You must be 18. I know that's a pain, but here in CA, they're picky about them little details. By posting here, you acknowledge that you're 18.
4. If you win 'em, use 'em. (As Sal Glesser said, "open, close, cut, clean, oil, cut, cut, cut.")
1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . GO!
*ps - June 14th is Flag Day, folks. Hang it with pride.
