2,009 in 2009!

Sorry I wasn't able to do a list of the numbers; we had our biggest service of the year today, so we've been busy.

My son will pick the numbers after dinner, so there's another hour or so here.

thx - cpr

And the weiners :D are:

yiterp, with #145 (post #5)

and:

Chewy1, with #950 (post #22)

You folks get me your info, and I'll get the knives out tomorrow.

I know it's 11:40pm east coast time - my sincere apologies for the lateness, folks. This is one of our busiest summer days each year.

thx - cpr

ps - my son had fun with this - we did a triple draw, first ten out of the bag, then three of the ten, then one of the three. The suspense just about made him crazy! :p

Congrats to the winners and to Chris for a great giveaway!

Congratulations to the giver and the receivers. These giveaways remind me of the Pacific potlatch giveaways. Very traditional.

I haven't owned a stockman since I was a little boy. Dad got my twin brother and I both a small stockman, can't recall the brand, and those things gave us fits!! Ha. Imagine a 10 yr old with three dull blades instead of one. How frustrating is that! The last thing that I remember was snapping the large blade off. The pen blade went about a year prior. Dang, I loved that knife!!

Thank you so much, Orca, for the great giveaway. Addy sent. (And I promise to treat it better than the little one Dad gave me.)

They're on the way today; you guys should see them by Friday, according to the mail lady. They each have what I'd call 'utility' or 'toothy' edges, as they were a little small for my whittling. They got regular daily use with apples, letters, steaks, etc. Feel free to profile whatever edge suits you guys.

The 34OT is one of the handiest of all the OT's I've ever seen; I figure SchradeUSA probably couldn't make them fast enough. Perfect blade arrangement & heft for a pocket knife. (My son liked it; he has one of his own in my box.)

The 896K, when the spay is open, has almost a perfect pistol grip; it's one of the most pronounced 'serpentine' shapes of any Stockman I've seen. I liked the feel of it so much, that I'd sit & end-roll it between my fingers while watching TV.

Thanks for all the kind comments, and thanks to all you guys for making this a great forum. I can't think of a better place to get hooked on.

thx - cpr

ps - if you two would be so kind, please post pics of these when they get to you. I took pics on my phone, but the pics are terrible.

Chris- The 896K arrived today. I sent you an email, too. Thank you so much. I was wondering about the knife's history. Every knife has a story and I'm a romantic at heart (don't tell the wife). Also, I know that you gave it to me to be mine, but I wanted to know how you felt about me polishing it up. I'll definitely take photos either way, but I'll (try to) honor your wishes, whichever way you say. Like I said, that's a lot of history.

Thanks again!!
