Yeah, NOT going to Chicago would be my first choice! I live on the opposite side of Illinois and I’ll only go there under duress. Don’t get me wrong, I know the city has a lot of good to offer if you like that sort of thing, but I’m a country boy at heart and the further from downtown anywhere the better. Oh, yeah, I’d take my Spyderco Lil native in cruwear if I had to go there. Hope your trip goes well!Funny coincidence I had to go to Chicago a couple years ago for my sons navy graduation and I had same decision to make. Only knife I had with legal blade length was a mora eldris but I wanted a folder. I had only a day to find one and couldn't go out of town so I got a gerber kettlebell at local pawn shop. I liked that gerber but couldn't help noticing it looked like a circus peanut. Sold it once I got back. If I had to go back I'd have to buy another folder though I'll never go back to Chicago unless I have to.

This hurts my soul. Pour lost steel! Good on you for knowing what you like though.Well it's not as if I LIKE short blades or anythingbut
what ever knife you like is what you should carry (with a little mod of course) .

Can you pick out the one I didn't shorten ?

Seriously though ; Spyderco makes one called the Chicago
and
The Spyderco called the Cat might do .
I don't know what Poor lost steel means .This hurts my soul. Pour lost steel! Good on you for knowing what you like though.

OMG! A full size handle with a small blade does make for some precision cutting, but dang! Here you go .
For comparison the top one is a Dragonfly
next down is the Cat
shorter than that one is the Chicago
then we come to three shortened Vosteed NightShades
and my favorite . . . another shortened Para 3

I have to go to Chicago soon. Their knife laws only allow knives with blades of 2.5 inches or less. Ugh Spyderco Dragonfly 2 or something else?
Thats soooo disturbing on so many levels!Well it's not as if I LIKE short blades or anythingbut

I don't know what Poor lost steel means .
Kind of like saying poor lost marble to a stone sculpter .
I just cut away everything that doesn't look like a knife .
Keeping in mind I have scads of longer blades in the same steel and in examples of the same model knife .
PS: I have a coffee can half full of cut offs that one day I might even make knives from .
Note the ones on this vise pedestal that haven't made it to the can yet .
