2 Best EDC knives going today...

Let me get this straight…..2 BEST EDC knives? Out of everything available? Bugout and PM3?

The best way to start a discussion on the internet is to write down your opinion. Asking questions or asking what other people think will get you snark, or silence.

I find that I like a lot of different knives for EDC and the occasion and dress dictates my choice. If I'm wearing athletic shorts for an active day, Bugout all the way. If it involves working, OG 535, not working 535-3,or ZT0450CF, need really light weight, mini Bugout.
Cargo shorts and pants or those with belts, Pena Caballero, CRK Mnandi, LS Myto, PM2, etc
Dress, CRK Sabenza, Mnandi, Liong Mah GDC, or the Pena.
Working, usually a Gerber beater knife and a Bugout 535. Edit- Forgot, Hogue Deka

Have to throw in the Hogue Deka in Magnacut for a lightweight EDC

As for "best", I thought we had already settled this question, it was the Sebenza and the PM2? :p
You know, I could get on board with those two.

If not the best, probably the most popular for many knife nerds.

What is the wait now on a Sebenza? 6 years? Something crazy like that for a simple, nothing special Sebenza or Inkosi.

Some dealers still have a few Sebenzas like Southernedge and AZcustoms.

I lose my grip with those scales, has to have aftermarket for me.
Great knife though.

As others said it's opinion, my best carry is what I have on me.
Lately Native chief and Manix 2.

For the times and prices I would say to buy a knife the Rat 1 or 2 and Ruick are tough to beat.
Hogue still has it going on as well.

The 2 best EDC knives going today are the same 2 best going for decades, and the answer is so clear that I almost hesitate to post for fear of sounding cliché. The CRK of your choice and the SAK of your choice. One could Carry those EveryDay, for the rest of his days, be equipped with tools of the highest quality, and not have the need for much else.

As enthusiasts, however, we tend to go beyond need and just like having a variety of knives. In which case the Bugout and Para 3 are fine.

I love the Spyderco PM2, but just got a large Hogue Ritter Grip in 20cv and love everything about it. Now if I am spending more $ I am carrying my Sebenza, Microtech or many others. Reasonably pricednits hard to beat the PM2 or Ritter Grip.

I've only had 3 knives that I carried for 5 years or more on an almost every day basis. A Spyderco police serrated for 10ish years, a crkt M16-14LE 2007ish model 8 years (those are more miss than hit though) and the Snap-On Kershaw SO82BLK it's a for Snap-On version of the ZT 0762. I guess the Snap-On is actually just shy of 4 years but is still one of my favorites.

Best EDC is very subjective not just for your task or the clothes / uniform you wear but hand size and strength. Just the other day I borrowed a coworker a UTX-85 because his wife decided that was what she had to have for walking to her car. As it turns out she didn't have the hand strength to reliably open it.

Myself I need a very polished slippery blade for cutting into wiring harnesses. I didn't realize how much it mattered until I bought a Benchmade Claymore to try for a new work knife. Currently I carry a shaman and am trying to go from the SO82 to a crucarta pm2. Only because I'd like to move away from the assisted open. However the pm2 just isn't working right for me.

My hand does not like the buggout or pm3.

All things considered, the 2 best EDC knives going today are probably the (1) Benchmade Bugout, and (2) Spyderco Para 3 lightweight. I kinda like my Benchmade mini grip a tad better than the Bugout, but the Bugout is such a lightweight champ, and when you add in the deep carry pocket clip, that just pushes it over the top in that battle. That said, you really have to pay for the Benchmade Bugout, as they are running well over $160 now.
The Bugout is $127 on a couple of places. Otherwise, I agree
