2 Best EDC knives going today...

TRM ATOM

Once you try it, and carry it, you'll be completely and totally hooked!!!

Love to hear feedback from anyone who tries it out!
I've got one. I'll agree that it is a great knife; but I'm not hooked...think I carried it two or three times, and haven't touched it since. I don't fault the knife for that, though; it was probably more just a matter of timing. It takes a lot to unseat a knife that already owns my pocket.

I'm in the UK we're fairly limited here unfortunately - no longer than 3" and non locking. My EDC is normally out of a SAK, Manly Wasp or Boker Tech1.

Spyderco i think do a slip joint. Specifically for that reason.

Or the UK pen knife as well apparently.

Oh right, it's this guy: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...and-rusts-like-crazy-take-my-ontario.1893103/

He makes outrageous claims to get a stir and never returns to clear up the controversy he sta

Your enthusiasm for whatever knife is the flavor of your day is...cute. Does this latest title mean you've changed your mind about the ZT0770 being an EDC stalwart?
Are the topics of your other threads less freaking awesome?
I can give you points for enthusiasm; but I probably haven't been a fan of any of the knives over which you've gushed. That's fine, though, to each his own, live and let live, you do you, and all that accepting, open-minded stuff.

I agree.
Wait, did I get that right?
And I like pie, too
All I know is I haven't taken the OP seriously since that drivel about any reasonable person exhausting the folding knife options before considering carrying a fixe

I submit the Benchmade mini adamas. Excellent mid size and cruwear holds up well

How does cruwear hold up as far as corrosion resistance is concerned? This is a significant factor given the moist, seacoast climate region I'm operating in.

I've never used it in those conditions; so I can't say how it would hold up in your use; but I've had no issue with corrosion...and only a fairly light natural patina.

Some people believe that the PM3 surpasses the PM2.
Well, some people are silly. On a more serious note, there are enough knives out there that everybody should be able to find something that works them. I tried to like the PM2 - spent a lot of money on aftermarket scales, which helped - but if I pocket one twice a year, that's a lot. I tried a PM3 once - bought it for a friend actually...he didn't like it, and gave it back. I didn't like it either, and quickly sold it here.

I haven't used it in those conditions, I can say that it holds an edge a long time cutting through cardboard and other media easily and it polishes up very well to a mirror surface. I have my edge at 6k grit finished on a leather belt.

For most EDC I like a fixed blade horizontal carry at 1000 position. Usually that is a Dozier Professional Guide’s Knife which is just a great ‘do it all’ knife. I often carry a Dozier slim outdoorsman in place of it and it is great as well. Each front pocket always has a folder clipped to them- my favorite is Spyderco PM2. For when I am doing chores on my property and might be rough on a folder, I really like the Spyderco Tenacious and Brutalica Ponomar. I have had some very nice folders for EDC like Watson Dog of War flippers, but I have carried Spyderco’s for so long that I just prefer them. I recently got a small David Mary fixed blade to carry in front pocket- I love the design.

I must be drunk.. I must be stoned. What have I become???????

Sounds reasonable. I love the Spyderco PM2.... but not enough has been said about the toughness, utility and greatness of the Spyderco Tenacious. People can disrespect it all they want, but it's a great knife... I mean, a truly great knife.

I hate that the Tenacious is from China, but the size, shape, action, ergo’s, toughness are absolutely great. I have 4 of them because they are just great and I don’t mind being rough on them. I put bright neon green scales on one for winter chores. I have used them very hard at times and never had an issue. Do they hold an edge as well as the PM2- no, but I cut things with them I simply would not abuse the PM with.

I'd choose a Sage 5, Smock, RockJumper, or even occasionally the Dragonfly over any Para. Besides preferring a thinner blade, a big part of why I like the Sage 5 so much is that I could easily delete the scale prong that forces an awkward grip. To be someone's "best EDC", it has to fit well in that person's hand.

Benchmade can go dangle. Besides things we aren't allowed to talk about here, I just saw yet another post about a broken omega spring. Citing reliability as a concern, that member is now retiring their BM in favor of a Ray Laconico design from MBK.

Speaking of Ray Laconico, I'm rocking another special edition Gemini today. The Gemini remains one of my all-time favorite designs. In any of its several iterations, I'd put it up as both one of the best and most underrated EDC knives of our time. :)

That said, we are blessed to have a massive selection of quality EDC knives today. From the Enzo/Brisa Birk 75 to the WE Beacon; I am very thankful for the choice I get each morning.
